The fingerprint card.......

As part of the official documentation for my silencer purchase I had to fill out and put my prints on the FBI card with 2 cards to be sent in to Silencer Central. Getting good prints is the tedious part for me what with slightly artheritic fingers with finger tips well worn from years of mechanical work.
Got it done but will take a picture of it and send to SC to make sure they look clear enough. Have to be careful not to get smudges all over the card since I was a messy finger painter!

back when I worked in NC's prison system I got to watch untold numbers of men in the early years and women during the last half of my employment being processed into the system .... good finger printing is something of an art form ... sometimes it went quickly and seemed so simple .... sometimes the opposite was true .... a person who really knows how to do can tell in an instant if the print is a good one or not

When my friend went in recently to get her CCP, the Sheriff's office didn't use ink. Used a digital reader, small enough to go through their under the window tray. Didn't ask if it was because of Co-vid or something they had already upgraded to.

Years ago the School District I worked for was required to fingerprint all employees, it took several tries to get a decent set from me, he said it wasn't uncommon with people that did a lot of manual labor.

But you know any prints at a crime scene will be far from perfect.

My local CT State Police officer took my ink fingerprints three times before I was given a CT pistol permit in 2013. He was as frustrated as I was.

When I worked at our county jail, I did hundreds of prints, both ink, and later a computer operated reader. Either way, some went easy, some a pain. You had to get them right or the State or Feds would kick them back.
It's easier if the inmate is not s#*t faced drunk..

Well I have 4 cards to use but they have to have a pair. I gave it a try and took a picture of them and emailed to Silencer Central. They told me today that they cannot pass judgement on them with an email picture. Called my local PD and for 15 bucks they will hopefully do a good job on my last set of cards.
