I am planning to cross the border to Canada (RV Alaska vacation in the late summer) and I need a lockable hard case that will satisfy any nosy border agent. I would rather not pay more than that for a case I would not use very often, and I would probably resell it any way. OTH if anybody has a suitable used one gathering dust, that has not had the foam plucked out, please let me know.

Seems like a nice case. I will be surprised if it is not opened for inspection (locked or not). But, I have not carriers firearm across a border. It seems people inspect luggage when flying. Maybe, it could be a difference in height.

I would check with Canada customs & immigration before trying to cross he boarder with a firearm. Having had to work in Canada on many occasions and almost getting arrested for following their regulations, (long story), it might be safer to have it shipped FedEx or UPS to your destination rather than have the Canadian customs authority seize you rifle. An ounce of prevention.............

Thanks for your concern, I have extensively researched this, OTH I could ship it, at much higher cost and hassle.

If I could still shoot a big magnum revolver, I would send one up to Tok that way. Handguns are cheap to send, but only if you ship to yourself via USPS Flat Rate Box... long guns, $$$. Anyway, please let us NOT turn this into a Do Not Take It Into Canada thread. Declaring, paperwork and paying the $25 Canadian fee is not rocket science.

I didn't know if you did the research about crossing the boarder with a rifle, $ 25 isn't much to know that everything will be ok. Good luck
