Perseverance will (hopefully) make a successful descent to the Martian surface tomorrow, and begin the search for evidence that life once existed on the planet.

Been watching this, too. Very interesting, but, then, I have always been an astronomy nut.

I've always liked the comment that "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" , in this context. They may not find any evidence. I think it could be months or years before we find out anything substantial. Or they could find irrefutable evidence next week.

That was a fun movie. Been an uncountable number of movies, myths, legends, stories, speculations, unexplained archeological artifacts, theories, books and even 20,000 yo rock paintings that have tackled the subject of life beyond this planet for many centuries.

I hope they do find something there. We need a place to send a few folks that are here making life miserable here for us good people. I have a list that will take a while to get through depending on how many seats are in that rocket.

Saw a report this morning that I found interesting. They were discussing the “seven minutes of terror”. Apparently in the last seven minutes of the descent there is no control from the folks here on earth. Great title for this.

I've been told that the landing will be carried by The Weather Channel but haven't been able to confirm it ...
