To all of you 'Old Timers'
To all of you 'Old Timers'
On Monday I was finishing up a heating system on a new home that we had been working on. That day there was a painter there that I had never met and he asked me if I was stopping for lunch.... I replied that, no I was just going to work through lunch that day. and then it happened..... He said, "I thought so, I know a lot of you OLD TIMERS don't break for lunch."
First time I've ever been called an 'old timer'.... I took it as a badge of honor! the next day I was kidding him about it and told him that from now on its, MR. Old Timer to him!
So to all of you old timers out there..... I'm proud to be among ya.

So in the order of seniority, is an Old Timer younger than an Old Fart? Asking for a friend

Re: To all of you 'Old Timers'
Since I've been called both on the same day, I'd say there's little to no difference. Think it's the mood of the caller.

Re: To all of you 'Old Timers'
I apparently went through the old timer phase already. Used to work through lunch. Now I must be an old fart. When it is my lunch time I sit down and rest my back and feet. And eat my lunch damn it!
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday.
Re: To all of you 'Old Timers'
Many years ago I was an operator of a rotational moulding machine. We had a four person crew and working this machine required constant moving, walking, lifting with lots of arm extension and operating both hand and pneumatic hand tools. Never to the level of increasing heart and respiratory rate but constant movement. When break or lunch time arrived I would sit down and give my body a rest. I always got a kick out of the folks that worked “upfront” in the office walking thru the factory while on their break. Me, rest was needed, them, exercise was needed. I completely understand the need to get up from a desk and take a walk but I sure appreciated my opportunity to sit down and take a load off.
This coming May will be my six year anniversary of being retired so I too am an “old timer”.

I'm like Chester on Gunsmoke, Barney Fife and all the rest, lol.
If I don't have lunch, I'm like a Rifle with no Ammo !!
Three large sandwiches, fruit and a pile of chips will just about get me to supper.
Young or old, lol.

I beat you by one year and retired in 2000. Wow, that's twenty years ago already.
Course I started a business in 2003 and sold it and retired again for good in 2009.

Let us all be equal in the Senior Citizen category.☺ Can't remember exactly when that starts, but I think most of us qualify.

Being an old guy or old timer like Coop, anyone he runs into and the age subject comes up gives him the opportunity to use the punk term. Thats what always happened around me So any you guys that are under my age are just a bunch of punks.

When I was a kid I wanted an Old Timer pocket knife. I thought it would make me older.
