Son in law made a chicken teriyaki on his new grill, cucumber salad. I made a chocolate Bundt cake from scratch for dessert with butter cream frosting.

Yesterday was such a cool wet day that we decided to forego a traditional 4th of July dinner and had tomato soup and grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. A nice January meal if I say so.

Long 4th weekend at my daughter's house with plenty to eat and drink. She made a beef brisket that was smoked for 13 hours and also some brown sugar smoked pork loins. Way too much food. I need to diet for the next month.

Pork chops from our half a hog we just got along with a baked potato and sauteed peppers.
Enjoyed a nice Hamm's beer with it.
So far the hog is really tasty. The bacon is outstanding and I'm ready to try a ham.

We enjoyed this fresh caught rainbow trout and some walleye snacks. Fish measured 18” long and while I didn’t weigh it it probably went two pounds. The one fish fed my wife and I to the point of being stuffed. About 12 minutes on the grill (6 per side) and it came out perfect. The walleye was dipped in a homemade beer batter and fried in olive oil for just a very short time, maybe 2 min per side. All was great.

Looks delicious. Love grilled rainbow, don't fish anymore so haven't had if for a long time. Safeway used to occasionally have smoked trout which was very good.
