We didn't get to watch it on HBO as it was broadcast. :(
I'm glad. Not because I would have been disappointed.... ;)
Quite the opposite, I would have been chompin at the bit all summer waitin for the next season to start... And... There were some brutal cliffhangers.

The first time thru I bought the season 1 - 7 boxer set. Wow... It was well written, the casting was amazing, production and special effects... Blow you away... I kept looking for season 8... Couldn't find it. Sheesh, not only was it not out on video yet, HE hadn't finished writing all of it, and they hadn't filmed and broadcast all of it yet. I could... Could order it episode by episode after it was broadcast, thru amazon prime, 3.99 per episode. So, we waited nine months, paid the money for the final season.

This time thru, a few years later, still as good. Eight seasons, took a while, couple episodes each sitting, but still enjoyed it all. You know the writing is good when you cheer some deaths and tear up a bit at others. When the characters feel like you know them.

Pulling up some trivia, I found out a Prequal Series is in the works. They are in preproduction on "Dance of the Dragons," which will tell the story of the Targaryens, leading up to the reign of the Mad King.

We don't have cable here, so I will be waiting for another Blue Ray boxed set.
:D

I watched the first season and got bored with it. TV and the big screen don’t entertain me like they used to. Not when I have too many other ways to entertain myself.

Fake violence isn’t real and I know it. Give me real entertainment like sporting events. Football is my favorite.

We liked Game of Thrones. I subscribed to HBO just to be able to watch it. I should drop it, but once in a while we watch a movie on it. I think we have the boxed set too.
I no longer watch sports, or that much television. Too much shift work in a former life. I wish at times we didn't get cable. Just sometimes.
I agree, I thought GOT was well written and worth watching.

I know what you mean My Lord.
(Insert genuflection here)
However, I tend to agree. Miss Tina and I don't watch much tv either.

I was never much for sports on tv, I preferred to participate in them. I would watch those shows that taught techniques, woodworking, shooting, building something.

Then politics raised it's ugly head and ruined them completely, one sport after another, so now we don't watch them at all. Glad we don't allow that here. There are so many other things to do with the time.

Woodworking
Naps
Shooting
Building
Work around the farm
Naps in the recliner.
And I have both an extensive movie collection and library.
Which leads to
Naps.... ;)
