New Laptop Recommendations

Post by Sir Henry » Tue Jan 05, 2021 2:03 am

I’ve tried buying scopes, air guns and washers/dryers but not much is available. I hope I have better luck with a laptop.

I’m currently looking at a Surface. I want it to run photo editing programs like photoshop and excel spreadsheets.

What should I look for and what options should I be looking at for photography editing?

High speed graphics chip and as much RAM and storage as you can cram into it. Take a look at the Dell XPS line:

Can't speak to Mac. Zero experience with them, but I know they are popular. Same advice with those tho. Processing speed, Ram, Storage. :)

I can't agree more. I switched to a Mac Book in 2015. The learning curve was steep, since I spent so many years in the corporate Microsoft PC world. My son, who works for Apple, twisted my arm and I'm glad he did.

Personally, I like the Lenovo brand of laptop computers. I have one, my wife has one, my son has one and they are all loaded to the hilt with fast processors, large amounts of ram, and large storage drives. At this point in time I will never ever buy another brand of laptop than Lenovo and I have had toshiba, acer, compaq, hp, and mac products in the past.

I cant stand Bill Gates and refuse to by any computer loaded with his companies operating systems. Ive owned both and if you like iPhones the Mac works with the iPhone very well. Im no computer expert but learning the Mac wasn’t bad.

I dont use any windoze products or any apple products. The first thing I do when I buy a new pc is that I wipe the hard drive and install a Linux distro. More times than many it is a MXLinux distro that works for me and does what I need it to do!

Windows 10. I could tolerate windows 7 but I really hated windows 10. I know some people like it but I could not take a liking to it no matter how much I tried.

I understand brand loyalty and Lenova is one like HP.Dell, and any of the others. But they still support Microsoft as there systems were loaded into those computers for sale to the public
