Good news and BAAAD news

Post by Oldbrass » Tue Dec 29, 2020 8:01 pm

Good news I don't have carpel tunnel disorder.. BAAAD news I have 2 ruptured disc and a damaged vertebra in my neck pinching my spinal cord. January 8th I have spinal surgery. It's high risk but the alternative is a wheel chair guaranteed within 3 years just in time for retirement 😁. If all goes well I'll be up and at'em in 3 months fingers crossed. 2020 just couldn't let me go without another kick in the groin. I don't use social media so will be here often my friends.

In 2012, the year of my own retirement, I had spinal fusion surgery to repair a slipped disc in my lower spine. It was a grueling procedure with a long period of recovery. I wish you the best possible outcome, Oldbrass. I look forward to reading good reports of your progress.

Wishing you a successful surgery with a speedy recovery. My neighbor has been fighting back issues for a year or so and just last week found out he has a bulging disc and pinched nerves. Here on our side of the state the hospitals have postponed elective surgeries but something like my neighbor’s condition is considered necessary, not elective so he is going to be able to go forward with his repair. Hope that applies to you too! :D

Best to you!

I have had a few major surgeries. Best advice I can offer is LISTEN to the docs and the physical therapists. Do the things they ask of you, there will be pain. DON'T do the things they advise against. You'll have a much better outcome in the long run.

We always think we know better than the post op folks... ;)
Ah... Usually no.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Take extra good care of yourself the next 8 days so your body will be firing on all cylinders when you go in.
