the night of Monday, December 21, 2020 is the longest one of the year .... the good news is, time wise, from now until June 20, 2021 the days will get longer and nights will get shorter ...

I'll take it! Hope to see the Christmas Star as it's called from Saturn and Jupiter being close together starting this evening.

I always look forward for this turn in the road. It brings a smile to my face to know the days are getting longer.

According to my wife once Christmas passes summer is right behind. Now mind you, we live in the north so it’s hard to share her optimism.
Hope to see the planets tonight but right now we are foggy so I’m not too optimistic.
Back when I was still working I worked with a lady who was a hardcore summer person and hated winter. So every year on June 22 I would start reminding her that winter was coming. I think she hit me several times.

I used to ski and snowshoe, and enjoy the white stuff. Now, we snowbird, and desert hikes and outdoor pickleball are much preferred.

I don't get along with Winter either. It's always comforting to know the days are getting longer. I had my share of harsh Winter after 20 years in Chicago....brutal!
I'm glad there are those like our northern members who are able to adjust and live in that climate.

I don't like to recall those Chicago winters or South Dakota winters or Minnesota winters. You get the drift, pun intended.

I was hoping to take my wife out to see the 'Christmas Star' tonight but we had a blizzard today. Snow and 30mph winds. Dropping down to -15 Fahrenheit this evening. I did take a half mile walk out on Lake Bemidji to check on my spear house (you can barely see it in the picture) I sat for a bit and saw one perch. Boy was the wind whipping and was the ice groaning and cracking! Kind of cool. Well thanks for the good news JEbar... Summer is on the way!!!!!
