Last purchase of the year

Post by Oldbrass » Fri Dec 18, 2020 8:52 pm

Picked it up 10 minutes ago. Been looking awhile and found this beautiful S&W model 10-5 38 special with Original box paperwork and sales receipt from 1968 for $78.80 . I paid a bit more🙄

Great looking revolver and what a bonus to have the original box and receipt. I remember those S&W boxes.

Question, does your box have the end label still on it and if so is it upside down?

At one time Smith put the labels upside down so when stacked on a shelf (such as at a distributors who would stock several of the same gun) the box would sit on it’s top. That way when picked up the box bottom and the gun itself wouldn’t fall. Clever.

Congrats OB. That is one great looking Model 10. From the pictures is appears to have been well cared for. I'm sure you will enjoy it. They are fine examples of Smith & Wesson quality of a bygone day.

That really is a great find. Like that paper work. A simpler time.

Truth told it's the smoothest action I've ever felt in a revolver, old school craftsmanship
