Thanks for sharing and posting up that video!

Good video, Forty. I'm familiar with most. Some were replaced in 'Nam. M-60 machine gun, LAWS rocket, M-14. M-16, etc. I had a M16 w/ M203 40mm grenade launcher underneath. Heck of a weapon ( and extra ammo to carry ).
Only thing better than a good war video is two of 'em.

They left out a couple. The rifle grenade and flame thrower, and a variety of edged weapons for starters. Maybe those were covered in other films.

True, remember all that bayonet training. Never had an occasion to use it, thankfully.
Gunny, the most exciting thing I saw in 'Nam was, one night, I got to see "puff The Magic Dragon' in action. Talk about spreading some lead!! Heard about it during training, awesome sight.

Many exciting moments for me, many of them I could have done without. Puff was pretty far down the list.

I spent many nights with an M60 as a bunk mate. No, not in a bunk, in a machine gun tower and later during Ia Drang resting beside me as I slept.
No bunk though.
Most interesting was when we fixed a 20 MM cannon to a huey. Didn't work out though, too much recoil. Later on put it on a Chinook and that
worked just fine.

I could have done without all of them, especially getting my legs shot out from under me. Maybe exciting wasn't the right word.
