I may be beyond weird because I’m searching for prison plates. I have found military serving trays but want something a little different. I have 40 sets of stainless steel flatware pictured below and would like to get 40 stainless steel plates similar to the one pictured below.

My question: are these really the type of plates one would find in a jail or prison?

Those are exactly the same type of plates we had in grade school in the cafeteria. For me, that is some 60 plus years ago.

not in the NC prisons where I worked from the 70's through the 90's .... they used plastic, compartment cafeteria food trays ....

Those would be a weapon in a correctional facility... Lol.

As a correctional officer...

We used lightweight plastic to prevent them being used in altercations.

Grade school was kind of a prison.

Especially when the fish were biting.

I was lucky thru most of grade school. My teachers were nice, like Opie's teacher Miss Crump. They were also Hawt, like Miss Crump.

These plates look like they could stop the new Digney Dagger armor piercing round. The website I found then on says they weigh 1 pound 4 ounces each.

For me it was Miss Shepherd. On the other hand there was also Mrs. Ulrich.

in a prison, any type of sturdy metal is prized for making weapons .... sounds like these plates would do just that

I worked as a Corrections officer in the county jail 3 yrs. We used plastic cafeteria trays & plastic "sporks " ( combo spoon & fork ).
Everything had to be accounted for when trays, etc were taken up. Anything missing, shake down.
