Eight years ago, I had surgery to fuse a few of the vertebrae in my lower back that had seriously slipped and were causing me lots of pain. The surgeon didn't promise it would eliminate the pain, but said it might. Unfortunately, it didn't, so I can't walk very far without needing to sit down or lean up against something.

Luckily, it doesn't hurt to sit, so I decided to buy a bicycle for exercise, hoping to be able to see the world up close and at ground level again. I made the decision to buy an e-bike and I'm really happy I did. At my age and in my physical condition, an ordinary bike would have been difficult to endure for any distance, but the assistance of an e-bike should give me the ability to get out and roam freely for miles.

I got it last week and as of today, with just a few good weather days, I've logged fourteen miles just riding around my neighborhood, gaining confidence and learning how it works. It has a forty/fifty mile range, but I'll be practicing for a while longer before I dare to leave the comfort of my little neighborhood. I haven't ridden a bike in more than forty years, so I'm a bit timid and want (need) to be careful.

I am really liking this bike and I'm looking forward to a wonderful spring, summer, and fall in 2021 exploring the area where I live while on two 26" wheels.

please post use impressions .... we see them in many campgrounds and the owners seem very pleased with them

I didn't know there was such a thing. I could be interested in something like that. With my back and now bad hips, I can't ride my regular bike far so this might be the ticket. They are going to put a bike trail in that boarders my property. It'll be a way to enjoy that length of trail that I used to ride my horse on and won't be able to after they put the bike trail in.

I see it has pedals and chain so you can pedal it if you want want to? Nice ride!

Yes. It can be peddled without any motor assistance at all; or with a selection of five levels of motor assistance (a little to a lot); or totally motor driven; and it has an automatic transmission that can be switched to manual on the fly. It is a sweet ride, more so for someone like me who hasn't been on a bike for decades. And that's not a chain. It's a carbon belt -- no grease.

Congrats, CT. I think an e-bike is a great idea.

I don't advertise that bicycling, not shooting, is my main pastime, since this is a shooting forum, but I do log thousands of bicycling miles every year and that includes trail, road and snow biking miles. I only rarely take a day off from riding.

I do have a nice bicycle collection, but I'm no purist. I strongly approve of the e-bike concept and expect I'll be riding one at some point in the not too distant future, given my age. Please do post about it. Would love to hear your thoughts and impressions.

I too have been looking at ebikes or maybe something like a honda ruckus. I have to say ebikes are pretty expensive.

Ebikes are the coming thing and very popular right now. You can hardly even buy one as most suppliers are out of them I bought one for my wife its an Lectric bike. Im lookng to get one for myself in the future but I dont want to give up on the pedaling just yet. Congrats CT I hope you enjoy it and it gives you trouble free service

Did you order that online and have it shipped to you? Or were you able to buy it local. If you ordered it how long did it take to get it?

I am looking forward to additional reports. My wife and I are considering buying E-Bikes next year to take camping. I like the style of yours and I am wondering how heavy it is as I will probably be loading them in the back of my pick-up that has a topper on it. The topper makes loading and unloading difficult.

Al, I ordered it online on the 13th and got it on the 21st. This company pays for the FEDex shipping and even provides a three week trial period during which they'll take it back, no questions asked, and pay for the return shipping, too. They will replace the saddle if your not happy with the one that comes with the bike. I did that. I bought a wider, softer seat (Cloud 9) from Amazon, sent them the receipt and they immediately refunded the cost to my CC.

They also seem to have great Customer Service. They've been quick to respond by email and no question is too dumb. There was very little assembly required. Basically attach the handlebars and seat and install the front wheel and peddles. Pretty easy.

The bike has a four year warranty and they will contract with a local bike shop here in CT if it ever needs service.

I used to ride recumbent trikes, and had even trained for months to hit s bucket list item. A marathon, riding with the rest of the physically challenged riders in a very well known marathon to participate, not race. Two miles in, I had a mini-stroke... And was never able to recover fully. I loved my recumbent trike, pedalling, I could cruise at thirty plus on the flats, and broke forty- five on a downhill. When you are two inches off the ground, that's fast!

Enjoy your ebike, but be careful not to Simon Cowell.

These thing are great and just perfect us older folks. My sister-in-law has been riding bikes for the last few years and was very proud that last year she topped 1000 miles for the first time. In January she bought an E-Bike and so far this year she has logged just over 2000 miles. She turned 66 this past February and rides with a club. Just the fact that it gives her the assistance, when needed, makes all the difference.

Sounds good CT Im a forum member of electric bike reviews. I also did some research on your particular bike after seeing the picture of it. Looks like a great deal and thats fast shipping. It has a little higher price tag than some of the ones I have looked at but the warranty and customer service is important to me. Especially the customer service. Warrantees are no good if the company doesnt respond. Looks good CT I like the auto trans and manual trans idea. The belt idea is great to. I will be anxious to see how you like it and your thoughts on the tranny.

Al, I totally agree. The testimonies I read about their CS were very encouraging; that, combined with their willingness to support their product with a four year warranty strongly factored into my decision to buy this particular bike. And, I liked the fact that this bike has so many technical features and advantages over most of those offered by other companies in a very crowded marketplace.

My decision to make my purchase was almost immediately confirmed when I got an email from the Owner and CEO the day after I ordered the bike. It reminded me of Anthony Imperato's business philosophy.
