Re: End of another riding season
nice bike .... just curious, do you do anything special to the motor to get it ready to be idle a while ?
Re: End of another riding season
For storage I change oil and filter, top the tank off and hook up a battery tender.

Thankyou for the compliment, for storage I change oil and filter, top off the fuel tank and plug in the battery tender

Re: End of another riding season
I know my buddy in VA uses the downtime for all the upgrades he planned during the previous year's riding, the new lights, engine upgrades or the like. And... Details the bike. Fenders, bags, windshield, mounts, it all comes off and the bike is inspected for corrosion, paint touched up, several coats of wax applied, and all bolts checked and tightened. He does the same to the Mustang, which isn't driven again until spring. His 4x4 gets a winter workout.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Sad when you have to put them up for the winter, but ice and motorcycles don't mix well. Where I am in central VA we get enough good days to ride almost all year, so I don't bother to winterize my bikes. Although every year it gets a little harder dealing with temps in the low 40's. I have a lot of warm riding gear and an electric heated vest and gloves, but the cold can still get through.
Nice ride - just plan for the spring.

Mine is still on the porch. There will be days throughout the winter that are ok for riding. I hate putting him in the garage.

Nice scooter, down here we still have decent days through out the winter to ride.
Besides we still have two more toy runs, before Christmas.
But this time of year I will hookup the tender.

Nice ride! I’m curious why you would top the gas off. Things like my lawn mower I run till it’s bone dry.

Sir Henry, not sure about that particular bike, but if fuel injected no real concern.
But now if it were carbureted, that would be a whole different story.

I always put Stabil Marine 360 in my fuel tank of my GMC 3500 HD garage queen, drive it for 20+ miles, before I put him away.
