Sitting just outside of Garyowen MT where it’s 42 and crisp. Sitting in a beautiful RV park which is so welcomed after the disaster park where we stayed near Bozeman. Today we plan to visit the Custer Battlefield.

As always, the hot steamy Folgers is my energy drink.

37 this morning with a high of 57, today I am remembering 9/11 that awful day. My sons all told me that what happened on that day is why they all enlisted after graduation. So proud of them, everybody say a prayer and have a great day!

Sad morning. Before I retired from the FAA I worked on a plan called SCANTANA that was meant to clear the skies of aircraft in case we were attacked by air.
It was intended to shut down nav aids so the enemy aircraft could not use them. We never thought the plan would work well and it would be pandemonium.
I was amazed when it worked so well.
I was newly retired and sitting at home when it came on the TV.
I will never forget.

48, cloudy with rain expected later in the day.

Later in the day I am to participate in a ceremony memorializing the 911 victims.
Our VFW Rifle Squad will fire a salute at the end of the ceremony.

I had just walked down the hall, and they were running the video
of the first plane hitting the tower. Like most, I thought it was some freak accident. As I continued watching, the second plane hit the other tower. I said to myself,this is no accident. I had no idea the extent of what had happened & why. Then came the other two attacks.
It was a scary day. Never forget that day & the aftermath.

Cool and cloudy here again this am 43 and headed for 64. Just got back from a 3 mile walk.

90 here today. Dry.....supposed to cool off to 60's next week. Maybe some rain mid-week. Not much on the plan this weekend. Badger has a nasal infection so treating him twice daily with antibiotics for 10 days. Horses with his condition (PPID, basically diabetes) are prone to infection so have to take every little thing seriously. He's drinking fine and eating like a horse. Just gotta watch him.

Cloudy, 52 and a high of 66 for today. Got some much needed rain yesterday. Waiting on results of yesterday’s MRI, had an ultrasound on arteries and veins in my neck and results showed no problems. Everybody have a great day!

In this era of COVID-19, does Ranger have to wear a mask, social distance, and quarantine?

44 clear cool degrees here in Garyowen MT. Sun is coming up and is lighting up the nearby hilltops. Packing up today and heading to Hill City SD, home of Mt. Rushmore. Going to make two milestones today, setting foot in Wyoming and South Dakota both a first for me.

First pot of Folgers is nearly gone (my wife is helping me drink it so no, I’m not guzzling in all myself ). Need to start another to fill the thermos for the highway.

Visited the Little Bighorn Battle sight yesterday very interesting but also very humbling too. The visitor center was closed due to Covid so we were not able to take in a Ranger presentation as JEBar suggested. Still a great visit.

The published images of the fire and smoke damage on the West Coast are stunning! From my tranquil East Coast living room, I feel a deep sense of sadness as I watch so many families struggling to survive this sudden, terrifying, and life changing event. It is heartbreaking. I wish for a quick end to it.
