I need to visit my car insurance agent this morning ...I was in a doozy of a fender bender last evening. ...may try to take the van to a repair shop for some estimate work.

I hope they make very quick work of it. It's good to read that you're OK and no one was hurt.

Morning all from Jonesboro, GA. A rather nice 72 degrees this morning. I am thankful for the surprise thunderstorm yesterday afternoon. We received some much needed rain, and a good long rain. Delivered the rifle, that I picked up the other day, to it's intended owner yesterday afternoon. It was an anniversary present from his wife. The rifle, a 1979 Marlin, straight stock (Texan), in excellent condition. Really enjoyed delivering it to him for his wife.

It is 47* a little after 6 AM. Have to work today and drop the Bandit 400 off for a valve adjustment and a coolant change while I am there. I hope I don't have to leave it as it has never been left anywhere since he bought it in 1992. Holiday week end might just be a good time to not have it to ride with the traffic everywhere. Everyone have a nice day and get ready for the holiday coming up.

Good Morning all from Jonesboro, GA. 72 degree this morning at 8:10 and rather pleasant. Lack of rain is still an issue here. We really need it to rain for a couple of days. Everyone take care and be safe.

It's another beautiful summer day in CT. Dry air, mid-eighties, bright sunshine.

This year, three rabbits call the backyard home and have now decimated our sugar snap peas. We've always had a rabbit or two hopping around, but this has never happened before. In a twelve foot row, only one plant is left untouched (so far). I walked out to the garden yesterday to chase one away. It hopped all of five feet away from me before it stopped to eat some clover. No fear.

This summer, our peas will come from the farm market. Next year, a little picket fence will join the landscape.

The H001 would put a "little fear" into those critters, if only you could use it there. That way those sugar snap peas would add a nice ingredient to the rabbit stew!

A white picket fence is my wife's favorite yard deco. At least it will be a nice addition to your landscape.

A long time ago we had goats. We went out of town one weekend and they got out and got in the garden. Goats won't eat cucumbers but they will taste of every one of them.

Very nice here today with low humidity. I just got back from the range as I posted a range report with the H001. I just checked our garden and so far the rabbits have not bothered the lettuce or the green string beans.

Gonna be a hot one here today. It's Canada Day. Big holiday weekend. Thousands of campers descending on all the parks. I will be cutting grass and then find some shade to relax in later. Tea time soon in the Henry mug.

Had two cups of dark roast this morning. Thunder showers predicted for this afternoon and then it is to be very pleasant and less humid for the holiday weekend. We have no special plans, just stay around home except for some local shopping. As I have gotten older I have lost my interest to travel on holiday weekends if at all possible. We will watch some racing and baseball and spend time with the neighbors. Hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend.

Got up at 6 AM to a foggy and 51* morning. Felt good having the cool morning. It wakes you up when the cool air hits you when first up and moving around. Had one Henry mug of coffee and a yogurt. We had a big buck hit here by the house with a car early Friday morning. This deer was huge and looks like it could have been an escapee from a deer farm. My neighbor checked it out and said the bases at the skull were well over 6 inches. Big bodied deer also. We have a lot of deer hit right at the corner of our yard and the field with it being a well used crossing. The locals know they cross there and still don't slow down. We have had motorcycles hit them to. Have a nice three day weekend and be safe.

The windows are open and sounds and smells of clean, fresh air once again fill the house. It's supposed to be a glorious holiday weekend here, with low humidity and bright sunshine. We have no plans for the entire weekend, other than to keep each other company and enjoy the nice weather. I'm sure we'll be drawn to do some grounds keeping, too.

We had our first taste of CT grown sweet corn yesterday. It was a great start to a great summer of fresh fruit and veggies.

Yesterday through tomorrow we're having/to have unusually cool weather. At the moment it is 61* and very cloudy. Overnight I gathered just over 3.5" water in the rain gauge. Today yet 80% chance of thunderstorms, with a high of 72* predicted. Flood warnings abound.

Although the summer heat has taken a break, it will return Tuesday --- predicted to be around 95* and stay there again for another 15 days or so.

Coffee sure tastes good this morning.

Morning all from Jonesboro, GA. 82 degrees at 9:30am, so a bit warm for this time of day, and for this time of the year. No other way to say it....We need rain. The afternoon and evening thundershowers are truly just hit and miss, and so far, the rain has missed us. Everyone have a safe and memorable 4th. I am always taken aback by those who just do not get our celebration of the 4th of July.
