I just stumbled out of bed. It rained all night. I haven't checked the rain gauge but I bet its a lot. Gotta put the water on for tea.

Enjoy what will certainly be a great time. And, that's going to be a conversation that I would silently listen to for pure enjoyment and education. :D

Sir Henry mentioned the KC weather yesterday in the "Official 2016 Baseball Thread." Thought I'd bring it under the Weather thread.

First, thanks to all who shared concern and well wishes after I wrote about the severe KCMO weather yesterday.

Second, I must admit, it was an experience that will not be easily forgotten by us. I've never seen such threatening weather move in that quickly and that close to any place we've lived. When we last lived in KS about 17-18 years ago, our last summer we spent three visits to our basement during tornado watches...but the closest sighting was about 10 miles away. Yesterday, the KC weather folk did a phenomenal job tracking and keeping John Q. Public well informed on the dangerous tornado cell that was coming our way.

Bottom line. I'm grateful that nothing dropped out of that tornado cell when it traveled by just barely a mile south of us. This "Northland" of KCMO is quite populated, and it could have been very, very bad.

I will be out and about later this afternoon, and may see some wind or flood damage from the severe thunderstorm we had. My rain gauge carried about four inches from the storm, and I'm certain there are trees and branches here & there, too. Flooding is major right now, and we're under a flood watch until Saturday afternoon in our county.

Sorry, Henry Folk. I've gone on a little too much on this weather topic. My bottom line. I didn't sleep well last night, and awakened today with a headache. I was grateful that I was able to help my wife and went through it as calmly as I did yesterday; but I think the stressful situation and tension did wear on me quite a lot.

Again, Everyone, trust your weekend will be good.
Thanks for letting me spout it out! ;)

I've been reading the weather and coffee posts. That is some wild weather. I remember one Monday Night Football game where the Seahawks were playing the Chiefs and the game was stopped because of rain and lightning. The stadium isles were rivers and the lightning was hitting all around the stadium.

Nice and calm maybe get to burn a few rounds of rim fire ammo this morning. Calling for showers so car washing put off to see what happens as the day heats up. Let us all remember our fallen heroes on this holiday dedicated to them for all they gave to keep our freedoms. Have a safe holiday and enjoy your week end with your family and be careful if on the highways.
I'm planning on staying off the highways this weekend. Take some pictures of the gang together at the show.

PT7 that must have been scary. I don't think I've ever experienced weather like that.

Got up at 4:50AM to another foggy morning. Not as heavy as yesterdays fog but I could do with out it. Getting ready to go to the Gettysburg show today and check things out and meet Squatch there. Not sure if I am taking anything to sell except the old 39A. Might take the Marlin 1894P 44 Magnum. It is a ported 16 1/4" barrel ear buster that I rarely shoot. If it doesn't bring close to a $1000 with the peep sight on it I will bring it back home. It is a rare model made a year or two. Wish every one a nice holiday week end and be safe.

Beautiful morning here with less humidity since the thunderstorm last evening. Have a full day planned, trimming trees, cutting grass and power washing the sidewalk. I may slip over to the softball tournament. Everyone have a safe holiday weekend.

Good morning all. I'm having coffee with another Mary Lou today.

Finally a day off. Certainly not a day of rest though. The honey do list continued to grow through the month long no day off period. I do have sight of my fishing rod, so it may not be all work and no play.

I hope your day is good and you enjoy a nice weekend.

The weather will be perfect today . All the storm that hit Tx missed me which is normal in my part of Tx . The last 4 days I got 5/8" of rain and 40 mile away they got 16" in 24 hrs . My total this year is 17" so far and that is 5" over normal and all are lakes and reservoirs are at 110% which are fill from Dallas 150 miles away and we send water to Houston and Austin which both are flood so we must keep our water . I hate rain and cold weather that is why I live here to ride my MC everyday and put the top down in my Miata and in 2 miles I'm in open country to take the Mustang out for some exercise it and rotate the gas in the tank .

Morning all. Just had my coffee at the lake house.

I put the flag out and Buster is laying on my lap snoring away. That's just what Pugs do.

Taking the boats out for a spin tomorrow morning. I'm sure some BBQ is in our future this weekend too.

Sunny with a high of 90 is the forecast in Valley Springs.

on my second cup of coffee as rain from Tropical Storm Bonnie is coming down .... the rain moved in sometime after midnight and is supposed to hang around until some time during the middle of the coming week .... based on looking at the radar, the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race scheduled to be run at the Charlotte Motor Speedway (actually located in Concord, North Carolina) may well be delayed

First morning in many that there is a blue sky and the sun is shining and no clouds. Celebrating with a Henry mug filled & warmed!
Rain chances moving back into forecast tonight, increasing tomorrow, and then full-fledged thunderstorms again Tuesday = range day out again!

At least I can fly Old Glory today. Hurrah!

Tea made and not doing much today. Cloudy and might rain. Day off today, not even going to bother cutting grass. Might polish my Henry. :)

I was at camp yesterday. I used a special mug to commemorate Veterans Day. It was my WWI memorial mug. I got it at the memorial in Kansas city a few years ago. It had a great museum. It was a wonderful place dedicated to those who served in the first world war.
