PT7, I am so thankful that you've been spared by this storm today. Your safety plan was well executed, you were very well informed and prepared, and you came out with an ultimately humorous note to us about your frightening adventure. I felt as if I was with you as you told how events unfolded.

Continued safety, Sir.

A new morning coffee cup being sold by Ruger. Looks like a nice companion to a
Henry mug. I know there are some Ruger owners here.

There was a series of tornadoes that came through here about 20 years ago. It just so happened I was out in the woods with my jeep, trying to help a friend who got his f250 stuck.; totally unrelated to the upcomming weather.

Anyway, I don't know how many people died, maybe 15 to 20 in Florida alone, several around me.

There was one home in particular. It was an idyllic old cracker house with the portch all around. It was on a large corner lot sorrounded by small orange groves and a farm.

I remembered it because it always had an old '40s or '50s car in a detached garage/barn.

Anyway, the entire place was removed from existance, and the three occupants killed, as I understand.

I don't work there any more, so never pass by that way. Last I saw, it was an empty lot.

Edit to add: The same tornado took out a trailer park and fish camp that have also never been rebuilt 2 miles down the road from the house.

There was one fatality there.

The man that was killed was known by "Lucky"

We get them around here but they are only the size to make them entertaining. And for the most part are in corn fields. Might tip over a garbage can or two but that's about it.

Glad you and the wife are safe today. I'm having coffee in the Henry mug this am. I'll raise it towards you and all the Kansas folk today. The only time I was west of the Mississippi was to fly into KCI for a stay in KC KS. Nice city and surroundings.

Enjoy your day.

Got up this morning to very heavy fog with almost zero visibility. My wife left for work a 5:10AM and I feel for her in some of the terrible weather she has to deal with through out the year at that time of the morning let alone the deer problems we have here with deer moving in to populated areas from where we live to her work place. Nice and calm maybe get to burn a few rounds of rim fire ammo this morning. Calling for showers so car washing put off to see what happens as the day heats up. Looking forward to tomorrows gun show at Gettysburg. Going to meet Squatch and maybe Dutch there about 11:00AM. Should be a great conversation on rifles and shooting. Two interesting members of our forum.
