Yeah, exactly like that. Hadn't thought about the right hand/left hand thing, though, when it comes to needing your right hand for throttle, which means you need to be pretty good with you left hand getting the rifle out of the scabbard. Hmmm.

Not like John Wayne, where you can just hold the reins in your teeth and blast away with both hands.

Unless you have Cruise Control on the bike, but those always made me nervous.

Back in 71-73 I strapped a scabbard on my Honda 350 with the rifle stock behind me and rode to the range and back a lot. Never had a problem but we used to do many things back then that you can't get away with anymore.
