Growing up in N.Georgia mountains and now living in Newnan GA, I think I have the best of both worlds. Family in the mountains, kids in the woods. Does it get any better?

New to the forum. I didn't read every post here but I searched the thread for New York and didn't come up with anything. So ... I am from NY. I find it hard to believe that I may be the only NY'er here. Its the only place I have lived so I don't have any opinions on living anywhere else. NY is a love hate relationship. There are things I love about it and things I hate about it. On the hate side one of those is how horrible the gun laws are. That being said the only Henry I have fired is a 44 mag. It was really nice and I was impressed. I hope to join the Henry family when NY finishes abusing me during the licensing process.

There are other NY Folk here on the Forum...certain you'll hear from someone.
I've also read from others how they are also impressed with the Henry .44 Magnum. Most any Henry caliber is special to own in its own way. Enjoy yours, and be safe.

There are those who endure very harsh weather, endure extreme heat, extreme cold and many other variables.
I am personally happy in the geographic location where I reside. Have lived from coast to coast and north and south in the USA.

Are you satisfied with where you live? ( for those who are...you're blessed ) . How many would re-locate if they could?

At my age, I ain't going anywhere else at this point, but I'm ok with that. RU...?

Not completely but Oklahoma is better for me that CT was for the six years I was there. I would love to retire to the Texas Hill Country, it just doesn’t get any better for me.

Living in Raleigh, I miss having 4 real seasons. I also hate the spring pollen season and the hot humid summers as well as the humid above-freezing rainy winters that feel colder than when it is below freezing and dry. I’m getting closer to an age where I can consider retirement and a time I won’t be tied to this particular area. That being said, I really don’t see my self moving too far. I don’t EVER see myself going back to IL with its politics and taxes. I could go back to WI, but wouldn’t because I’d never get my wife and daughter up there (well, definitely not my wife).

I’ve been spending more time up in the “mountains” of North Carolina and really enjoy that area. I’ve also really liked the Hilton Head area, so that could be an option. Currently, my goal is the Cabin in the Mountains and a home of some type near Hilton Head. I’d probably spend most of my time up in the mountains. We have also talked about the possibility of spending a year or 2 near Jackson, WY.

My wife has said we’d probably follow my daughter where her career takes her. I have already stated that if it involves the northeast or California, she could come visit me if she gets lonely.

I am retired and could go just about any where I want. Like one of your visions though, we do have that cabin high in the WNC mountains and our winter home just south of Asheville NC. Gonna stay right here. Been here the last 20 yrs but have lived from coast to coast and from north to south. To us, this is the best geographic location all things considered. JMO.

Doesn't make any difference, Grandma is never going to leave the Grandkids. Ever! On a brighter side we have a diesel motorhome and we do travel the US a lot.
Spent the last ten years traveling coast to coast. Home for the Summer now, but will start doing Blue Grass in June.

At least you have the motor home option. We thought about affording one years ago, but when not using it we would have nowhere to keep it.

Luckily I built a 40 x 60 shed a few years back so it resides in there when not on the road. It's fairly old, but well built on a Freightliner frame with a Cat Diesel engine. It has flat screen satellite TVs, a washer dryer, basement heat pump/air conditioner, ect. Just like me, old but sturdy. We tow my Explorer behind it.
