Our Morning Coffee and Weather

Up at 4:30 for a drive to visit my dad. Probably the last time as he is going downhill quickly. He’s had a good run though, so we are at peace with it. Hope the double espresso keeps me awake on the mountain highway! Luckily (?) I spent a lot of my life running snow cats etc in the night. I’m used to driving 8 hours plus when I should be sleeping!

Safe travel to visit your dad. Good to hear that you have peace about it all, and that when you head back home, trust that peace remains with him and all the family members. Will pray for that blessing...

The past week was unseasonably warm, frosty starts but then into the low 60's.
Have a couple of weeks where I can get to the farm to catch up on jobs and maybe get in a bit of hunting. Rain Sunday night and yesterday, 10 day forecast is for rain on 8 of them with snow the other 2.
Perfect timing and of course the snow predicted just happens to be the day sheep are due to start lambing.

Morning guys, was in the low 70's when I got up, it's 77° now and headed to 93° with a heat index of 106.
Got to go see the doc. and get a little check up.

Was 68 when I got up, 81 now and headed for the low 90s with humidity on the rise again. Got grandkids coming out of the woodwork so accomplishing anything at all today will only be a fluke.

68 low last night, headed to 83 later today .... about a quarter of four this morning a bright flash of lightning, instantaneously followed by a very loud clap of thunder announced the arrival of a heavy rain storm that 5 hours later is still hanging on .... the pictures below were just taken outside of our campsite in east central South Dakota ..... the paved sites next to us are underwater .... they must have one heck of a sump pump in the basement of the house across the road from us .... we've been here going on 4 weeks and its basically run nonstop .... coffee in a Luckenbach mug relaxing looking out the window at water world

Sunny and wet from rain yesterday and last night. Stampede was good, weather was cool and cloudy, perfect for wandering around the midway, went through all the building exhibits, ate some junk food, checked out the western art, etc. Today if it dries up I'll be riding the JD mower for awhile. Tea in a big plain china mug.

Afternoon all, made a quick trip to the doc's like I mentioned earlier for a little check up.

Had a little incident last night on my way home.
Evidently this lady did see me on the bike and pulled out in front of me.
Then panicked and stopped... yep I clipped her right at the rear quarter panel.
Bike's a little crumpled but repairable, me? Ah, just a couple bruises and a pulled hamstring.

That's not such a small hit. Looked at the neck yet? Since it got at least the left strut I'd sure look it over good before I started collecting parts.

Going to take it to the local dealership and get them to look it over .
I'm sure her insurance company is going to want to inspect it also.

5 years on a rescue squad scraping up bits convinced me to sell my bike. 8/10 time it was not the cyclist’s fault but for many that did not change the outcome.

62 degrees with a 20 mph wind where we are camped in east central South Dakota .... in short, its rather cool outside .... headed to a predicted high of 76 with only a 20% chance of rain .... it will take me several cups of coffee before I'm ready to get out and about this morning
