I was just sipping a Maker's Mark when I got a "Facetime" call from "The Broken Marine". We had a really nice
conversation until he lost signal and then I had to brave the storm out there to get the mail. It's half a mile
out to the mail box.
Carol is happily making a Seafood Chowder and I am sipping a cold beer and will finish later with a martini.
It 's a good evening to stay in. -5F with winds gusting over 30 mph. :o

Y'all stay warm now, ya hear?

Despite the terrible road conditions they all made it for Christmas Eve. We had dinner early so they could get on their way
as some have a ways to drive. It was good with Prime Rib and all the trimmings.
I tried to explain to them how important this tradition is and that I hope when we're gone they will still keep it up.
I think they will.

Merry Christmas to all.

Had my daughter, husband and kids came over for supper, opened a few gifts and later we’ll go to midnite mass. Just got dug out from the last blizzard, Skyped with son in Denmark and with another son we didn’t get to go see because of the blizzards. So toast this forum I’m having an Irish Coffee and to this forum Nollaig Chridheil☘️🇮🇪

Just recap last evening. We were in North Minneapolis at our youngest daughter's house for a Christmas Dinner. Her in-laws and brother in law were in attendance as well. Lots of good food, wine, and conversation. We had a good time but it started snowing again so we decided it was time to get home while the plows were still operating.
We got home with no problems although we did see some folks in the ditch and so on.
Put on my sweat suit, sat down with a martini and watched a little TV before retiring for the night.

All in all it was a good Holiday Season for us. :D

Bourbon and a Book, not really a Stephen King fan, but it's a decent read.

Hmm..not a habitual reader, but, I never knew Stephen King wrote anything like that. Let us know if it is a good read. I've got the bourbon right now, just no book. 🙂

Mark, it's not a bad read, especially considering the author, ;)
Never read the Green Mile, but it's similar.
It has a little bit of supernatural, but not to far fetched.
I'm enjoying it so far, I'm roughly a third of the way.

I don't read as much as I used to, but a friend couple were over during the Thanksgiving Holidays and we were talking about reading and she suggested it. She ordered it and had it sent so I felt obliged to at least give it a try.

I read that a few years ago. Different, but so is everything he writes.

Well, I got the plow up and cleaned up our yards and driveways. Just a few inches of nuisance snow is all.
I went out and fed the wild turkeys again. 24 F which is 37 degrees warmer than a week ago.
We're supposed to get a thaw by the weekend.
Now for a Maker's Mark and some Dinner/Supper depending where you live.
