Re: Are you happy where you are?
This was an interesting question for me to consider. I was born and raised in CT. It's a pretty small state, just 50 x 100 miles. I met my wife when we were still in high school more than fifty years ago and I lived here with her for nearly 44 years before she passed away in 2017. Pretty much everywhere I go in CT and everything I see here reminds me of our wonderful, amazing life together. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Hmmmm. Who’d a thunk that more than one of us on a cowboy gun forum would want to live in those areas??

CT shooter: I was still bouncing around in my mommas belly (about 2/3rds cooked) when you were at your prom! You two made a very handsome couple!

Re: Are you happy where you are?
They can for sure. Big winters too. I’ve not spent a ton of time in Montana, but I have in Wyoming. I love it there. Payton/Prescott would probably still be a nicer winter.

Hell no! It's -2 with the wind chill. Was going to shoot this weekend. Bah!
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

This is out drive and house. Also pictured is my neighbors Chrysler mini van which he parked in my parking area, and

I can tolerate cold weather and slippery roads, but I am sick and tired of Illinois politics.

I am happy where I live weather wise. I was raised in Wisconsin and enjoy the seasons. I know live in the Chicagoland area and still enjoy the seasons. My children are here as well, so I have no desire to move. My wife and I have lived in a number of places during out marriage and just the other day when it was below zero fahrenheit and we were walking home from lunch my wife said she didn’t think the temperature was that bad! She enjoys winters as well!

Yeah, we could use some global warming here, too.

Re: Are you happy where you are?
I've spent most of my life in a small Illinois village near the Wabash River. Wife & I have been married for 48 years. I have always been happy here and never really had thoughts of leaving until recently - mostly due to the political climate. I have watched Illinois politicians dig a hole so deep it will impossible to climb out.
There is really no way of leaving right now, however. My mother has alzeihmer's and I had to put her in a facility about 12 miles away. I see her 4 days a week. My wife's mother also has alzeihmer's and she is in a facility 18 miles away. We see her 3 days a week. I would also hate to part with the farm land we have (it has been in the family since 1850) but our recent tax assessments raised 44% to 67%.

I love where i live, on the water. Boat house, boat dock, fishing in my backyard. Beautiful wife, 3 great kids and 8 awesome grand kids. I love my corvettes and going camping all over the great state of Texas. I am blessed beyond expectations, oh and 1 great Henry rifle soon to be multiples.
