You got me thinking about that German Chocolate Cake. I'll eat to much again tomorrow, then left overs for couple days. Will do my weigh-in Sunday morning, then weigh on Sundays.

Only diet I know anything about is the,
See-food diet. I see food and want it, I eat it.
Nearly 67 and have never been overweight in my entire life.

I used to be able to follow the see food diet, but my warranty ran out.
Now I smell really cool food and gain weight. :P

It happens. I remember when I was a shift leader in the Corps, I was a Staff Sergeant by then, by no means fat, but not the hard charger I had been early in my career. A young Marine, unmarried and living in the barracks who worked out with his roommate every day, went to the beach, ran, played basketball, etc asked me how I could let myself go. :o

Really? I was well within standards, scored first class on physical fitness tests, and was ten years older than he, with a wife and three young kids. I was stocky, but by no means, fat. "It will come for you when you get married." I told him.

"Oh no, not me." He cried, "Never happen."

I grinned, he was Italian, from New York, a big family. He had an Italian Mom, who ran that family. I knew his wife would be Italian. Six months later, he married smoking hot Gina. She was Mom approved. She cooked italian, and well. No more every day three hour workouts with the guys, all day at the beach, hours spent playing basketball. He gained fifteen pounds in about six months. :D The guys never let him hear the end of it. He lost some weight, he never found those abs again.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

When I was 67 I could say that. After four years in Wisconsin that changed. The state pastime is eating, especially foods high in fat and sugar.

180.8 to start the year. Year end goal is 165.

Back in the 80's I worked in material and handling at large co for 2 years. In our receiving and shipping area they had large scale.
We worked swing shifts, it didn't matter which shift it was or what I had eaten or drank my weight never varied more than 5 pounds.
To this day, nohing much has changed. I don't weigh often, but I know the swing can't be much different.

I'm gonna eat today's leftovers until Sunday. Will weigh Sunday morning. I'm not gonna weigh until then, but I'm guessing I'm back up in the 210-212 range. I was down to 200 before Thanksgiving.

Did my weigh in this morning. Better that I expected. 208 lbs. I'll see how it goes.

Got my Sunday weigh in done. 254.1
Hopefully I'll be in the 253s soon.
Weight loss is sure a lot slower this time around.

We drove down to my daughter's in Southern Oklahoma to drop off my SILs Christmas Present. A new Recliner.
(They don't have a truck so they couldn't take it with them when they were up here for the family get together.)
It's a 6 hour round trip, lot's of time to chat, look at the cows out both sides of the truck, and generally BS about everything.

I mentioned that my weigh in went well and I was slowly losing, creeping slowly down. I hoped to eventually get down to 220, but it might take a year. If I don't make it that far, at least 230 or so. Tina has been very supportive this time around, and not making comments like: "What, you didn't like the Pork Chops, :o You only ate one."

She said, "You realize once you lose the weight you want to, you'll have to stay on this calorie counting thing, the rest of your life to KEEP the weight off."

I reminded her that the RN had called it a change of lifestyle, not a temporary fad. I'm good with it, if I can maintain the discipline to do so. It hasn't been nearly as hard as one would think. You get used to doing without all the cool snacks. Every now and then you can have a treat. Instead of a pound bag of M&Ms, you have 16 M&Ms, 70 calories. :D Eat them one at a time, and enjoy them, rather than eating handfuls.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I think people eat as entertainment and not for nutrition. Once you change that it’s easy except when you visit someone.

That's what I like about the caloric diet. Unless they are just serving some weird menu, I can eat what they offer, just choose portion sizes that allow me to stay within my range. (Keeping my few allergies in mind.)
