I believe that getting a flu or COVID shot should be a personal decision. For forty years I never got a flu shot even though my wife urged me to. Then finally about 6 years ago there were some health related changes in my life. Since then, every year I receive my flu shot and now the first of two COVID shots. I whole heartedly believe the what I decide is right for me may not be your choice and that's for you to decide.

BINGO it’s a personal choice. I do like hearing the why’s and not’s.

Here's a why-not....google Thalidomide and see how this wonder drug of the 1950's performed.

I dont answer calls from phones that are unknown or private. If the call is that important, the number would not be "unknown". It dont matter since I am not taking the vaccine anyway!
I don't usually either but we were foretold by news media that this was happening and as it turns out, is true. If I hadn't answered I would not have been in the queue.

Thanks. I had never heard of it. If I had leprosy I might think about using as it’s still being used. What are your views on the Salk Vaccine?

Some medicines do turn out bad but most don’t. The two Covid19 vaccines makes me wonder. Are they like Thalidomide or more like the Salk Vaccine which in my opinion turned out to be a wonder drug.

I grew up down wind of Hanford, sprayed with Agent Orange, and rode in the back of a pickup and somehow am still alive. And now I have to worry about Thaliomide. :lol: :lol:

Seriously I’m not fond of the two vaccines and want to wait for the J&J vaccine.

Exactly...If it was important, they would leave a message. Most just hang up if it goes to message.
It's a damb shame anymore how much time is wasted by phones ringing and nothing important on the other end...infuriating!!
And potentially dangerous if one should miss an IMPORTANT call. Something needs to be done about this tragic intrusion on our lives!!!

My opinion only;

My understanding is that vaccines take years to develop, and require massive amounts of data and testing. These were rushed to market. When my son was a teenager going to parties, we always told him "don't do any drugs or take anything from anyone because you have no idea what's in it." So what's the difference now? Because a doctor says it's ok? Or Fauci says it's ok?
Not picking a fight, but also not injecting unknown substances into my veins because the gov't says so. Again, best of luck to anyone getting their shots, I do sincerely hope it works great for you.

No fight seen. Just an exchange of ideas.

They usually have a new flu shot every year based on the best information at the time and only make slight changes to it each year. The J&J vaccine is like that. The other two are from a newer base and process. And like you say they were rushed.

What is right for me might not be right for everyone. I’m going to compare it to knowing when to draw Social Security. It is usually decided on a person’s health.

I am healthy and even though I’m 71 I do not think I am at a high risk to get terribly ill from Covid19. I have the luxury of waiting. Others do not and need to make decisions in their best interest.

My best defense is to not be around other people.

Now I'm starting to get spam texts, got 2 today. One wanted me to go to a web site for oil change discounts, the other was an offer to become some kind of a Walmart elite shopper. Both deleted and blocked but they probably used a spoofed phone # anyway.

I'll turn 60 in a few months and I just had the rona. Very mild symptoms. Since my body dispatched the virus rather easily, I'm not inclined to take the vaccine.

I got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine today. I've not had any reactions to it.

Radiologists are now reporting that women who have gotten the covid vaccine are now showing enlarged lymph nodes on their mamogram exams. Yeah, we were told it is safe! I dont have to worry because myself, my wife and my son are not going to take the vaccine and bow down to the controllers! I wish the best for all of you that have bowed down and taken it.

I got the first Moderna shot yesterday in my bum rt shoulder and didn't notice any worse pain. My shoulder sounds like a high speed ratchet when I attempt to raise it above elbow level. My wife and oldest grand daughter both said that it felt like somebody was trying to break their arms. Thank the Lord I am a Lefty. Stay safe and healthy.

I'll turn 65 in a month or so. Covid also got me on the 16th of Jan. I spent a whole yr. working as an essential employee in a D&A Rehab Facility constantly worried that Covid would get me and I'd carry it home. The media had me worried that I was a gonner if I caught covid. Well it happened, and I know the Good Lord was with us all the way. We all recovered and are doing well and it wasn't really that bad. Life goes on and I'm done worrying about. We had our minds made up before that we were not getting the shot. I'll let someone that feels they need it have it.

Rugrat;
Just to inform you, we are burying my ex- sister-in-law tomorrow. She felt bad for a day and half before going to the clinic. They tested her and found out she had China Virus this past Wednesday. She went to the hospital that evening and got worse. They put her on a respirator Thursday AM and she didn't make it thru the night. She was my age 67. The sweetest woman you could ever meet.
We all live or die due to the choices we make. Good Luck to you and your family. Due to our situation of being in many social events and work, we made our choices.
Stay safe and healthy.

I am healthy and can afford to wait. If I had heart disease or another major problem or just felt I might not survive Covid19 then I might feel different.

People take chemotherapy all the time for cancer knowing full well the chemotherapy might kill them before the cancer does. It’s not a matter of bowing down it’s a matter of going with the best risk each individual has to face.

I agree. My uncle was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of his esphoegos, his lungs, and his liver. The docs said for him to go home and not take any radiation or chemotheropy, because it would only submit him to more pain and more expense to him and his family. I tend to agree because when it is your time to go, it is your time to go.

Its like the flu it affects everyone differently. No vaccine will guarantee that you wont get it. To each there own but Im not convinced this vaccine thats out there right now will be the cure for it. It came out to fast and it hasnt been tested long term.

Well, you could be correct, but if it has any of the effect that it's supposed to have, it will have saved many thousands of lives over waiting for a long term solution.
