while I don't pull for him, I do pull for his team .... one of my wife's former chemistry/physics students is the chief engineer on Kurt's team .... a while back he took us on a personal tour of SHR .... a most impressive organization

Since Danica has gone, the recent champion filled that spot for me.

I believe my pick for favorite will be Truex.

Truex most certainly isn't a bad choice .... I'm leaning toward Chase .... for one so young, he ain't doing bad at all .... plus, he drives a Chevy .. ;)

Chase being named as the most popular Cup driver for 2018 .... that comes as no surprise, I voted for him ... what I wasn't aware of is --- "The award has been in the families of the Elliotts and Earnhardts for 33 years in total, with the younger Elliott claiming his first title on Thursday evening. As Dale Earnhardt Jr. – who won the award for 15 straight seasons before his retirement at the end of the season — announced Elliott as the winner, it was almost a passing of the torch."

McLaughlin driving for DJR/Team Penske took out our tittle, quite a year for the Penske organisation Aussie supercar championship Nascar championship and the Indy 500.

Nascar reported the other 4 runners up were Truex, Kyle Busch, Harvick and Blaney, in no particular order. It seems like they don't release those numbers that way.
