I've been waiting since about 2013 for the Elio and I would have been under the 1st 1000 on the waiting list . At that time it was $100 to go on the list and I think it was $500 to go on the 1st 100 list . I think it could be a scam like the Tucker car . He has change production date over 6 time in the last 3 yrs . I'm 73 and can't wait for him to build one anymore . So I got the Miata and the best move I ever did . Sir Henry can tell you I was hot and heavy to get one and with the Tear Drop I posted on the other forumJEBar wrote:I'm one of just under 52,000 people who has put down money to reserve a Elio .... https://www.eliomotors.com/ .... we have been following Elio Motors development for over a year and are hopeful that it will go into production in early 2017

there is no doubt that mistakes have been made .... couple that with some setbacks that were beyond the company's control, delays have happened .... within the last few months they have made some major progress and the outlook appears to be much brighter .... some more major companies have signed on which would tend to indicate that they believe it is going to happen .... one example is Roush is working with them on the suspension ....Roush is very protective of their name and image and I don't believe for a second that they haven't checked things thoroughly .... it has gone public and people can by its stock .... 100 are due to be produced at the factory in Shreveport in December .... they will be sold for fleet use where they will get many miles of real world testing .... its been an interesting ride and hopefully will be even more interesting when we have onetx gunrunner wrote:I've been waiting since about 2013 for the Elio and I would have been under the 1st 1000 on the waiting list . Yes ..... I sold it a week after I got the Miata . I couldn't see keeping it since I have the Miata , Mustang and Honda motorcycle to drive . The cost to insure it , lic it and maintain it plus I didn't drive it before I got the Miata . My MC is my main thing to drive over 6 times day a week .Sir Henry wrote:tx gunrunner wrote:

Re: What Do You Drive?
really great picture, I plan to copy and save it .... much has changed since then .... all sales outlets will be owned by Elio Motors .... lawyers got involved and they no longer approve or towing a trailer .... that said, its gonna happen .... a number of folks are already working on attaching a receiver or hitch ball to the Elio .... it will be built to flat tow behind another vehicle .... example being towed behind a motorhometx gunrunner wrote:Here s one of my post..... and the pic is from another post .
