Re: Official 2018 NASCAR Thread
it will be interesting to see how Truex and will get along .... I'm guessing there will be no middle ground. It will either be awesome... or a train wreck.
In reading the article at Motorsport.com, it stated that the deal to move Truex, his crew chief Pern and Bass Pro was done and signed well before Furniture Row made their announcement
1. 5hr Energy says they are leaving
2. Deal to move Truex / Pern / Bass Pro to JGR is inked
3. Furniture Row... now in position of finding a top level replacement driver... AND a sponsor is too much for Barney Visser to sign on for... so they close up shop.
What else COULD this mean?
It could mean that Kurt Busch is staying at SHR .... rumor is that Monster will follow Kurt .... He is largely credited with bringing Furniture Row into the top level of NASCAR .... he took them to their first ever playoff .... Barney could have signed Kurt and Monster and been ready to go for 2019 .... unless Kurt isn't really available...
Two most likely scenarios for Kurt...
1. Stay @ SHR on a shorter contract
2. Replace Jamie McMurray in the 1 car at Ganassi with a longer contract
not being a Kurt fan, it doesn't make much difference to me

Re: Official 2018 NASCAR Thread
I could never understand Kurt agreeing to leave an elite team like Stewart-Haas, especially when having pretty good success there.
It would be nice to see Furniture Row somehow survive. Caught a little talk on some Nascar Radio updates today and this seems like it is shaking up the place.

Re: Official 2018 NASCAR Thread
Interesting race. Brad is starting to change things from the "Big 3" to the "Big 4". His 3rd win in a row and the 500th win for Penske.
Kyle Busch had problems sliding into the grass, but salvaged a 7th place finish.
Pretty good day for Almirola in the 10 car in 6th and for a lot of non-chase drivers.

Re: Official 2018 NASCAR Thread
Ah yes, Richmond.
Was, one of the places I always wanted to watch a race from.
I'll go out on a limb here and say my guess.
These should be the top contenders.
2, 4, & 18,
and maybe 11, 22, or the 41.

by the very nature of contact at a short track, I have no clue who would be the favorite .... I do believe that some tempers will flare

Re: Official 2018 NASCAR Thread
Rowdy got his 50th win, tied with Junior Johnson, and Ned Jarret.
Also tied Happy for the most wins so far @ 7, this year.
Looks like I had a couple numbers in the top ten.
