Post by JEBar » Sat Aug 25, 2018 2:59 pm

no cup race this weekend but today's Xfinity race at Road Americal offers a couple interesting things .... first, Awesome Bill from Dawsonville is set to drive the #23 Camaro .... he starts 23rd .... second, the first race for Henry Arms Company to sponsor the # 90 Camaro driven by Andy Lally (never heard of him before) that starts 13th ... the race is scheduled to start at 3PM Eastern on NBCS

end of stage 1, the Henry car has moved up to 9th .... Bill has dropped a few positions down to 31 .... they can't seem to get in many laps without a caution

Don't know who the 24 is, but he was the winner.
Didn't see who was leadin points. But these days I probably wouldn't know who he was anyway. :D

I got an email from Henry with a photo of their car and telling me about the race. Not having cable tv made it unlikely that I was going to watch, but at least it was a “turns both ways” kind of course! Top 10 isn’t a bad showing for race #1.

Ryan Newman didn't seem too happy with Clint Bowyer late in the race.

Defending Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr. will race elsewhere in 2019.

Truex, a four-time winner this year, is in his fifth season with Furniture Row Racing. The Denver, Colorado-based team announced Tuesday that it will cease operations at the end of the 2018 NASCAR season.

Strange for a team as successful as Furniture Row has to close. Believe they are having sponsorship trouble and I also heard that the alliance with Gibb's is or got too costly. We are also wondering how Toyota is handling this. There is just too much that is not known. It would be even stranger if he won the Championship again this year.
