Re: Spring Forward/Fall Back
well, its "Fall Back" time again .... Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 3, 2024 .... Last year Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, reintroduced legislation to make daylight saving time permanent across the country, which he says would end the "antiquated practice" of changing clocks twice a year.called the Sunshine Protection Act, passed the Senate last year by unanimous consent, meaning no senators opposed it. But it stalled in the House and expired at the end of the last session of Congress..... haven't heard of any attempt to revive it

I have lived in Florida since I was four years old. What most folks don't know is that The state did not use daylight time for many years. The local Boy Scout camp operated on daylight time but I was in my late teens or early twenties before it became "official". I think that Arizona held out a lot longer.
Re: Spring Forward/Fall Back
I've been bowhunting these past couple weeks, and it's nice to not have to get up at an extra early hour to be in the stand before sunrise. Down side is that it gets darker earlier so evenings after work are a little hurried to get out there and get set up for those last two hours. Now we'll be going back to the extra time later in the day, but earlier wake-ups.

Re: Spring Forward/Fall Back
I think I'm already acclimated. The past few days I've not been ready to get up by 8. So falling back to 7 is looking good.

Re: Spring Forward/Fall Back
I will admit that I do like the fall change (sure wish we would stay on it). I’m a morning person who could care less about late afternoon and evening as that’s down time for me. For example we feed our dogs at 7:00 am and then I take them for their daily hike. Right now it’s too dark at 7:00 for the hike and they just give me that “sad puppy dog look”. So next week we’ll be back to the 7:00 am hike.
Here is yesterday at 8:08 am.

Re: Spring Forward/Fall Back
I'm just the opposite. For most of my working life I had to be at work at 6AM, 5AM on a snow or freezing rain day. Now that I'm retired I never set my alarm (or wear a watch) and usually don't get up before 10AM so I do like the extra hour of light in the afternoon. Only thing I wouldn't like about year around DST is that kids would be walking or waiting for the bus in the dark, I suppose they could start school an hour later though.

Re: Spring Forward/Fall Back
I get up around 5 or 5:30 in the morning. I don't care if it's light or dark. When I head out to work, the truck knows whether to turn on the headlights or not. I don't mind setting the clocks ahead and back.

I agree, for the most part. Carol says that it throws everything out of whack for her. I don't quite understand that. Give me 24 hrs and I'm right back on whatever schedule I was on with no physical drain.daytime dave wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 5:57 pmI get up around 5 or 5:30 in the morning.
