48 and sunny this morning. Local news hasn’t started but I bet they will say the high will be in the upper 70’s. Very nice day for sure. More of the same for the next several days. Our new fridge and dishwasher arrive today. The fridge will be installed but the dishwasher has to wait for a plumber, stupid state rules.

Are you changing it's location, it's OK for a homeowner to replace an existing dishwasher.

Same location. The dealer asked me if I wanted to install it and I declined. Be just my luck to gouge Mrs hatchdog’s new floor. I’d never hear the end of that. The plumber will charge a couple hundred bucks to install it.

50 and sunny with another beautiful day ahead. Summer has arrived. Today’s plan is to get a bunch of logs cut up into rounds which will be next winters firewood. Funny to think about winter when it’s so nice outside.

53 and a beautiful sunny morning. We enjoyed a couple of cups of coffee on the patio watching the sun rise thru the trees. High of 89  today. Tomorrow brings a dry cold front with 25-30 sustained winds and gusts to 50. We’re under a fire warning due to low humidity and high winds along with high temps. Oh boy, here we go again.

Got a lot of logs cut up into rounds yesterday and will finish up today. Quit early yesterday as it was getting hot.

63 this morning with a partly cloudy sky. The overnight temp stayed much higher than normal with the cloud cover. Today brings a Fire Alert day with gusty winds to 50 mph and low humidity. A tree falling into a power line could spark a wildfire that will immediately become out of control with the winds. Fortunately for me personally the worst of the winds will be south and west of my place. But anything can happen on a day like today.

Fingers crossed.

Above are my comments about yesterday’s Fire Alert. Sadly it has happened again. A fire started just east of the Spokane city border. It has burned thru a lightly populated area heading to a large community of 2500 homes. Of the 2500 at least 500 are under a mandatory evacuation. Yesterday’s winds made the fire run fast. Four large tankers, two extra large tankers and several helicopters are fighting the fire plus 350+ ground crew. It was estimated yesterday that five homes have burned in the lightly populated area. So far the fire has not reached the large community. Hopefully today’s lighter winds will prevent that from happening.

55 this morning with thankfully no winds. Partly cloudy sky with a high around 80 expected. Nice for the next several days and unless something changes our plans we will be taking the boat out on Friday for the first time this season. Today Mrs hatchdog gets her stitches out from a skin cancer on her arm she had removed about a week ago. Then a stop into Costco and home to mow the lawn.
