its been one of those that simply doesn't fit standard expectations .... 66 at 5:30PM under a cloudless sky with just a strong enough breeze for you to feel it .... they say our overnight low will drop to 48 before rebounding to a high of 78 tomorrow .... sadly, nothing in the way of significant rain .... things got off to a pretty much normal start .... Maureen took her pup out for its second time the morning and returned carrying her .... the pup had apparently stepped on something and injured her right, front paw .... she was trembling and wouldn't any weight on it .... I checked it and couldn't find any problem .... after watching her a short while we decided to contact her Vet .... dropping her off pretty much killed the rest of this morning .... about 4PM the Vet called for us to come and get her .... thankfully, nothing serious, a bruised pad .... we just got home and while she still favors it, she is much better .... next up trying to feed folks in time to get our 10 year old grandson to 7PM baseball practice

29 and frosty this morning as forecast. Again tomorrow then a warm up with overnight temps staying above freezing. I have a fire in the stove today and will have another tomorrow then I’m out of wood.

Today I play to get out and pick up pinecones. They are everywhere and I got behind. I use a garden size dump trailer to haul them down to a spot I use to dump them. My four wheeler battery looked like it wasn’t taking a charge which is surprising as it was new last year. I messed around with it for a few days and finally decided my charger was kaput. Bought a new charger and I’m back in the saddle again. That is if one can consider the seat on a four wheeler as saddle.

Highs have been mostly in the 40’s and 50’s with lows in the teens to 30’s. Seems like winter is almost over. Most of the snow has melted with only plowed piles remaining. I turned the heat down to 64 because even on a cloudy day the sun warms the house to about 70.

Just like Bobbie Baer, I wanna go home, I wanna go home.

I miss my shop and vet's coffees.
I'm tired of traveling. :(

Don’t blame you. Until today your home temps have been pretty mild. Best two days of a trip are the day you leave and the day you return. Kinda like buying a boat,

A chilly one today with a low of 26. High should see the mid 50’s with bright sunshine. Tomorrow brings clouds but warmer temps too. It looks like we will have a couple of mornings next week below freezing but most mornings will be in the mid to upper 30’s. I’m sitting here looking at my last fire for the season and my last piece of firewood to add. Boooooo. I knew I didn’t have enough wood on hand but did manage to stretch it out.

Today is get out and get it done and enjoy the sunshine and warm temps. Tomorrow is golf with my son.

36 and overcast this morning. It’s supposed to hit the upper 50’s today but the clouds are expected to hang out all day. Still a nice day for late March. Nice again tomorrow with rain coming in late. Then some substantial rain for Wed and maybe Thursday.

Hitting the golf course at noon today for a weekend round of golf. Mostly I play during the week when it’s less crowded but playing with my son who is still working durning the week. Too bad for him

48 at 11AM on Sat March 28 under a cloudless sky .... last night we had a good rain that left puddles and water standing in our road ditch .... its really nice to look out the window and see thick coat of pollen washed away so that both our Blazer and Silverado are red once again .... that said, our area is so dry that they've just extended a burn ban .... forecasted high today 58 (a 30 degree drop from yesterday) and it comes as a minor shock to see the subfreezing prediction of 31 for tonight's low .... unsure what's on tap for today but do know whatever develops will be minor in nature

I just saw and heard the first sand hill crane of the season. I have two pairs that nest in the waters by my field.
