Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
My Carol and I both smoked but quit over 20 years ago. I still miss it. It was like an old friend.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 6:03 pmTomorrow she has a visit with a pulmonary doc for some lung tests. About a month ago she started coughing up blood. Took her to the ER and after staying in the hospital overnight for observation they determined she had an infection in her lungs. As she’s a smoker we expected to hear the worst and we’re thankful that we didn’t. No signs of any type of cancers.
I always say that if the Doc says I have a few weeks to live I'm going down and get a case of Pall Malls.
(Just kidding), I think.

I certainly don't miss it either. I'm enjoying the much-improved sense of smell and taste that I lost for many years, not to mention breathing deeper and not coughing all the time. I don't even think about smoking anymore.

Spring weather here. Been camping even through the cold and snow we had. Considering selling my reloading gear and cartridge guns. May divest of all but my flintlock. It’s all I shoot anyway.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Starting at sixteen, I worked my way up to two packs of unfiltered camels everyday. The last carton I bought when I was in my early twenties cost $10 at the local grocery store. I'm glad to be without it, like you guys. Nicotine addiction is a bitch.markiver54 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2026 11:33 amI certainly don't miss it either. Yesterday topped out out at 62'.
This morning 43' and brightly overcast. Expected to remain cloudy and maybe make 56' later. Rain probably starts this evening, continuing at least for the next 7 days.
