I took first place, only guy with a flintlock against the Quigley rifles. Rolling blocks, winchesters, etc.
Had a great time. I picked up a full size 2 yr old bull buffalo hide to sleep in at camp. Super warm. Winter camp will be a lot nicer this year!

The sun is rising way south of Timms Hill now. It’s my benchmark for fall and spring.
We had the hardest frost of the season last night and the ground crunches as you walk on it.

39 this morning with a storm approaching. Later this afternoon we are expecting rain and wind with gusts to 30 or so. More rain over the weekend and again on and off next week. Been working hard getting ready for winter. Put the pontoon boat in the shop for the first time. I knew it was longer than the old one and it sure filled up the shop. Should have built a bigger shop (says everybody
)
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather

Hatch, when I see that shop I'm starting not to like you. That's too darn neat. You're embarrassing me.

That rainy day to finish the shop is today and tomorrow. 40 right now with rain and wind expected. Looks like fall is here with a vengeance with a cool wet week ahead.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
My shop is a mess right now as well. I've been cracking Black Walnuts for the kitchen and they explode often sending shards all over the shop. When I get done I will do a thorough cleaning. Another problem is my wood turning lathe. It tends to send shavings all over the place. What I usually do is open the door and use compressed air to blow it all out.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
we enjoyed it .... when my wife sits up that late and watches a game it has to be a good one
our Frost Advisory mentioned above proved to be of no concern, lowest temp I've seen this morning was 46 .... 56 at 11AM on its way to a forecasted high of 65 later this afternoon .... anticipated low tonight falling to 38 .... nothing major on today's agenda .... kind of hope something good comes up !!
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
A dark and stormy morning 47'. Probably dark and stormy all day and maybe 53'.

Party Cloudy 43°F, Humidity 81%
Wind Speed Calm
Barometer 30.25 in
Dewpoint 37°F
Visibility 10.00 mi
Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.
South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
A friend came over with his post hole drill and we set a 4x6x10 to mount the Star Link on.
Now all I have to do is run the cable into the house. Right now it's temporarily just sitting
on grass, but working great.

50 at 10AM under a mostly cloudy sky .... no call for rain today but probable passing showers overnight ....forecasted high 64 falling falling to a low of 49 before morning .... enjoyed watching the second game of the World Series yesterday evening where the Dodgers evened the series .... on game today, we will be watching pro football instead
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
38 and very breezy right now. Very windy and lots of rain yesterday. Not crazy about the wind but the rain is greatly appreciated. More rain expected for the afternoon. Cool with rain on and off this week. Thursday is looking dry and partly sunny so we may take the UTV up north where the fire was this summer and do some “sight-seeing”. Won’t be a pretty sight for sure.
I have a bunch of piles of limbs covered with tarps for winter burning. I’d better check them today and see if my tarps are askew. I weighted them down with some heavy thick limbs so hopefully they will still be in place.
