Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Monday, July 7th .... 89 with a RealFeel of 107 at 11AM with a projected high of 93 before dropping back to an overnight low of 73 .... thankfully Chantal has moved on, no call for rain until Wednesday at the earliest .... Maureen gone to massage appointment from which she usually comes home well pounded .... nothing much of importance scheduled for this week
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Best wishes brm for Mrs. Brm.
Woke up to a very comfortable 54 this morning with sunny skies. Enjoyed a cup of coffee on the patio watching the sun come up. Life is good! Hot today with a temp of 92 and hotter tomorrow at 96. A little cooler beyond that. Red Flag warning for Tuesday evening thru Wed night for wildfire. Hot, dry, windy, low humidity spells disaster. Yesterday we had a 50 acre fire in a local state park which caused many level 3 (go NOW) evacuations. This included the campground in the park and all the hiking and equestrian areas. This also included the Spokane Rifle Club (private not part of the state park) but thankfully the fire didn’t cross the Spokane river so the rifle club and the campground were not affected. Yesterday was light winds and had it been more windy the fire would have crossed the river and possible gone into high density neighborhoods.
Took my son to visit his surgeon for his four week follow up. She says his wound is healing nicely and most likely will be off the wound vacuum in 2-3 weeks. This should eliminate the need for home health care nurse visits and his need to stay at our place.

Mrs. BRM made it through the surgery, it was than they thought. While in recovery she got severely nauseous and lost control of her O2 and had to have oxygen. Finally got everything under control and made it home 9 hours later!

Good news, happy for her. That oxygen drop must have been a scare.
Here in the Pacific Northwest (Inland thankfully) it’’s 56 and hazy. Haze probably from smoke. Today it’s supposed to get hot with temps in the upper 90’’s. Winds coming in later today and lasting thru tomorrow with 30+ mph. Combined with the high temps, low humidity and very dry brush it’s going to be dicey if a wildfire breaks out. Fingers crossed.
With the temp today my plans are mostly to stay indoors. But I’ll take the dogs for our morning hike here shortly while it’s still nice and cool.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
79 with a RealFeel of 95 at 9AM .... the forecasted high for today is 91 with it to drop back to 74 overnight .... first up this morning was to take Maureen's Blazer to a local garage for service and tire rotation ..... second was to haul off trash .... other than to go back and pick up her Blazer, not much on tap for today
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
62 this morning, warmer due to some overcast above. Partly cloudy so we are getting some sun breaks. Another Red Flag Warning day due to high winds expected. 30+ mph. High in the upper 80’s which is a bit of a break from the 90’s of the last few days. Cooler tomorrow than warming up a bit for the weekend.
Yesterday was also a bad day for winds and as expected we had some fires break out. (Surely not by themselves you stupid people). Some smaller fires near Spokane that lead to some brief evacuations which are now all under control. One series of four fires close to each other so arson is suspected. However there is a large (3200 acres) fire burning to the north near the Canadian border. It started right along the Columbia river and burned north. Saw a map that showed it went from the at first reported 5 acres to 3200 acres in just a few hours due to spotting ahead of the main fire line. This fire is just a few miles from our property up there but for now is burning in the other direction. Today’s winds are expected to shift to the east which is the direction our property is located. The fire will have to jump the Columbia river to reach us and with today’s wind forecast that is possible. I’m sure if this is the case the DNR and county firefighters will set up on the opposite side of the river to put out hot spots.
Here’s a picture of the fire expansion map I mentioned.
