Yesterday I worked hard all day including a couple of equipment failures to get my lawn fertilized before last nights rain fell. Yep, no rain. Sure glad I are dinner at 7:00 pm last night due to getting ready for Mother Nature’s watering. Grrrrrrr
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
43 and sunny right now with highs in the 50’s expected. Next week the forecast is for mid to upper 60’s all week. I guess spring is here.

Guess I’ll have to both turn on my sprinklers and drag hoses to non sprinkler system places.

Can you imagine what their advertising budget is? Can’t watch 30 min of tv without seeing an ad, can’t look at today’s email without seeing an ad, can’t attend any kind of trade show without seeing a booth.markiver54 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 10:21 amI hesitated to say anything because everyone's budget is different. I had Anderson come give me a quote to replace a sliding door unit and the price given was unbelievably high to say the least. Their product may be great quality, but I'm not going to be ripped off.JEBar wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 9:13 amthe word for today is rain .... make that RAIN .... 53 at 9AM on its way to 64 later today before dropping back to 48 overnight .... as noted, we are looking at periods rain off and on all day .... yesterday's meeting with the rep from Anderson windows went well .... both of the people we have direct interaction with have been a pleasure to work with .... bottom line, good product but at an exorbitant price .... we went into the meeting fully intending to buy but came out needing to explore other options .... so now we have to come up with a Plan B

43' and cloudy. No rain expected next 7 days.
Overtime we've replace all the windows in our house. I found the Anderson Renewal quotes incredibly expensive. I did not buy them. Most of mine are now Milgard and a couple Jeld-wen.

understood .... including multiple discounts, $10,000+ for a door came as a most unwelcome surprise to us
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Some companies will spend a lot to get a new customer. Last year Spectrum ran underground cable up my dead end road, only me and my neighbor up the road from the one house that requested it (and all three of us already have PUD fiber). The sub contractor that dug the ditch said that Spectrum's cost was $10,000. Since then we get a letter from Spectrum every couple of weeks asking us to sign up. One of the Spectrum guys was here and I asked them why they would spend so much for at most 3 new customers and he said Spectrum would spend $5000 for one new customer.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
This was years ago, but I was similarly surprised when Verizon ran fiber up our dead end road for 3 customers.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Sure wish someone would run fiber my way. We’re still on DSL via the phone line but it works pretty good for us.
33 this morning with a light frost on the lawn. Probably because I watered yesterday so there’s extra moisture out there. Partly cloudy expected with possible spotty showers around the area. Highs in the 50’s. Same tomorrow without the showers.
We delayed our Costco run yesterday so that’s on tap for today. Then I’m calling today “complete it” day. I have some equipment that needs cleaned up after use and some small projects to do to complete the larger project done earlier. I’m a completion driven type and hate to leave something undone but weather made me do it!
So today I’ll put my mind to rest.

Before fiber we had DSL. Back then the max speed was 384Kps. I think newer DSL tech can get up to 100Mps. Our current fiber plan is 100Mps. Which works great for us. We've run as many as 3 UHD video streams without hiccups or caching delays. We could get 2GBps if we wanted to pay more, but no need.
41' cloudy/sunny. After it warms up some more, will be outside for some yard work.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
today started early ... up before 5AM ... quick breakfast .... loaded our gear and hooked up our youngest son's boat ....backed onto the lake's boat ramp as the sun was coming up .... purpose of our outing was to do a little fishing while testing the boat for the first time this year .... we took along our 8 year old grandson for his first ever fishing from a boat ..... it was cold out there .... anyone who has fished with a child can most probably attest to the fact that the adult doesn't actually get to do much fishing.... we stayed on the water until 11AM .... thankfully, the forecast was wrong and we didn't get any rain .... 59 at 3pm with it forecasted to get up to 60 later this afternoon before dropping to 39 overnight

beautiful sunny but cool morning .... 44 with a RealFeel of 51 at 8AM on its way to 66 before falling back to 44 tonight .... no rain today or tomorrow, really looking forward to tomorrow's high of 82 .... happy to be back to shorts and sandals
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
28 this morning with a light frost. High should be in the mid 50’s with 60’s expected this week. Looks to be one of those beautiful warm sunny spring weeks. Too bad as this past week was spring break for the local schools and the weather was ok but not as nice as this week is expected to be.
Yesterday’s lengthy trip to Spokane running errands and then wind and rain prevented me from completing the un-completed projects around here so I sat in my chair and watched the Masters golf on tv. Today I plan to do the same as it’s said the Masters championship doesn’t begin until the back nine holes on Sunday. It’s shaping up to be a great competition today.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
29 with a muted by thin clouds rising sun. In the 60’s today and the rest of the week is supposed to be just as nice. Except for gusty winds Wed and Thursday with 40 mph gusts expected. Seeing the doc for my annual check up today otherwise planning to spend time outdoors. My wife’s cousin and hubby moved up here from So Cal some years ago but snowbird back there in the winter. She fell and broke her ankle in three places a month ago and is still going thru therapy and check ups. So their return to here has been delayed a month so I’m going over to their place to mow the lawn and maybe turn the water on. Poor her.
