Wise Sir Henry, wise. Those temps can be dangerous as you well know. No envy here as I have felt those extremes many times and i know how uncomfortable they are.

Warmed up from yesterday (unexpected) and is 23 out there. Tonight is the big chill with a forecast of 9 above. I’m thinking that we won’t see temps that low. Warming up all week with highs above freezing by the end of the week. Maybe some snow on Friday.

Nothing happening today so I might do a little bit of reloading. I want to load 100 more 357’s to have on hand for this year when it warms up.

I've got quite a few reloaded but with less velocity just for target practice. We used to have a group we called
"The Stalwarts" that went shooting regardless how cold it was. Well, we've all gotten old so I guess we weren't
quite as stalwart as we thought because we stay home now when the weather gets bad.

Good day, can't really say morning as it's nearly noon here.
Was 26° when I woke, only going to around 29° they say.
Down to AR 10 for the low.
The #2 grandson spent the night and he wanted to play in the woods, which actually was the ditch.
Oh yeah, there's water in it at the moment and he was clearing debris and getting it flowing again.

28' and sunny. Hard frost last night.

I'm on the edge of Hatchdog's cold front. They predicted a low of 15 for last night and it only got down to 25, it's sunny and 34 right now. I'm ready for an early Spring as long as we get more snow in the mountains.

-26 this morning. I’ve only been in Wisconsin for three years and this isn’t the coldest I’ve seen it here.

Good morning. It's a balmy 11° with a 5 to 8 mph breeze so it says feels like-1°. The high is to be around 26° around 3:00.
Not much going on out there today.
A friend sent me a Marlin 336 butt stock that he replaced with much nicer fur.
I cut it down for the grandsons to able to shoot some of those. May work on reshaping the butt plate today.
I'm putting it on my short 35R to start. The shorter barrel is lighter and should be much easier. Number did shoot it yesterday while he was here.

our predicted cold wave is just getting here .... 26 now, predicted high 37, dropping to 18 tonight .... snow tomorrow night is still in the forecast but predictions for just how much we will get are constantly changing .... today will be spent getting ready for Maureen's knee replacement surgery in the morning ....

Woke up to 10 degrees and 8 inches of fresh powder! Skiers will be happy.

Today is supposed to be the coldest of this little cold snap we are experiencing. The forecast low was 9 above and when I got up two hours ago it was 12 and now it’s dropped to 10. We may lose another degree or two but this will probably be the bottom. The official Deer Park temp at the airport three miles away is 5 above but my place is always a few degrees warmer. My pup doesn’t seem to care as he spent quite a while outside rolling in the snow and chasing his ball. Our adult dog just stayed by the fire.

Like Coop mentioned we plan to watch the festivities in DC today.

Today the record low was -31F and this morning it was -28F. Tomorrow the record is -30F and the forecast is for -32F so we might hit a record for the day. I think the Timms Hill all time low is -35F. Winds are mild at 7-15.

We made it to -31F but the weatherman says we haven’t hit the lowest temperature yet. That happens in another hour then the temp starts to rise and this time tomorrow we might hit zero.

I just dried a load of clothes and went to the dryer 15 minutes after the bell rang. My clothes were dry but frigid. Turns out the outside exhaust cover froze open and let the cold inside. I’ve learned to keep the door clothed because even when the outside vent is closed it still lets a lot of cold in. The furnace is in a small closet behind the laundry room and it’s 88F while the house is 70. The floors are hot in there too. If I come inside in this weather I’ll take my shoes off and just stand in the furnace closet for five minutes.

I must admit this place is well insulated. Even the windows. I can stand two feet from a window and not feet a draft. I must admit I have one weak door seal and I stick a rag in the gap. I never use this door.

The heating cost is low too. It costs more to cool it in the summer than to heat it in the winter.
