I did get a lot done yesterday but my old Jubilee wouldn't start so I got Carol to steer and I
towed it out of the shed. Now the snow plow won't start so that's today's project. I can't
tow it because the blade is down. So...............

Been there done that.

What a difference a day can make. Yesterday I woke up to 27 and a heavy frost and this morning 48 balmy degrees. Overcast with a high of around 60 expected. Nice tomorrow with rain coming overnight and into Monday.

Today I’ll winterize the RV and pressure washer and then watch the WSU Cougars take on the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. Homecoming for the Cougs and it’s shaping up to be one of those perfect fall afternoons for football.

another in our string of beautiful but cool days .... 70 as this is being typed with it predicted to get up to 74 later this afternoon before dropping back to 43 before morning .... a pharmacy run to pick up some new meds has been our only venture out today .... tonight Maureen and our daughter will be attending the wedding of a son of one our camping club members .... I will be taking our 16 year old and 8 year old grandsons out to eat on a boys' night out .... looking forward to it, haven't done that in a good while

Officially Indian Summer is supposed to come after the first frost but
this year we've not had a frost so far. They say the weather will always
even out so I'm thinking that we're if for a hard Winter.

46 now on its way to 76 later this afternoon with no chance of rain, should fall back to 41 overnight .... do hope to get over to the local town park and take a walk after lunch .... no clue how far my new right knee will permit us to walk .... should be interesting .... our dogwood trees' leaves are turning color, fall is most certainly rolling in .... while not surprising, I do find it interesting that reports from the storm ravaged areas in western NC report record high early voting .... that is also being reported in most other areas of the state as well .... happy to see that the NY Yankees will be back in the World Series for the first time in 15 years ....

Good morning, was 40 when I woke, then dipped to 39, but now is on the rise at 42 and headed towards the upper 70's.
Grandson came home with us from his BD party. A buddy of mine cooked a hog for the TN/AL game, he and I went over there for a few hrs.
He's got to go home before noon as they are going to some kind of a Halloween festival.
I'll probably go visit with the oldest for a couple hrs., after I drop him off.

Sounds like a pleasant Sunday.

Woke earlier to 46 and the high today may tickle 70. Wow . Rain coming in overnight and tomorrow then nice for the rest of the week but with temps more seasonal. We should see some lows in the upper 20’s so I’ll be getting the firewood stocked up here at the house.

Planning on watching the Seattle Seahawks struggle to beat the Falcons at 10:00 and then it’ outside to enjoy the day’s temps. I going to blow out the sprinkler system and finish up the RV. Got the plumbing winterized yesterday and today I’ll put the dehumidifiers in it and crack all the doors and drawers. Pretty much it.

For the next 10 days the highs will be in the 60’s and 70’s with lows in the 50’s. Since the house is in the sun from sunup to sundown it gets hot. In the summer I run the AC but I shut it off a few weeks ago when temps dropped to the 20’s at night and 40’s in the day. Well I couldn’t stand it any longer and turned it back on.

Still getting into the mid 70's here if it's not cloudy. Don't get direct sun all day but with a metal roof and siding it can still get up to the upper 70's inside. Central air so it does not run long to stay cool. When I'm sure I'll no longer need it I'll turn the breaker off so the compressor heater does not run all Winter, just need to be sure to turn the breaker back on a couple of days before I need AC next Spring.

Good morning, 40° outside with no wind, headed towards 82 later.
Going to start a pretty good size job up on a big county lake. One county north of us, the lake was man made about 10 yrs ago now and is supposed to be 1000 acres.
What about this as a cool little coyote mount.

the start of another week is a familiar one .... that being a medical appointment, this time for physical therapy .... I look forward to these appointments because they are showing positive results .... 43 here right now, 54 in Estelline, SD where we spend our summers .... while it ain't rare to have it warmer there, it ain't the norm .... predicted high today is 78 with no rain in sight .... hurricane recovery efforts in western NC continue and its certain that it will be a long term project .... many pictures and reports have been publicized but it somehow still comes as a shock when new ones surface

Yesterday afternoon we traveled about 100 miles to the little town where I grew
up and picked up the planters and flowers at the family grave site. Every Memorial
Day weekend we go there and decorate, and leave them all summer. Buried there are
My Father, Mother, Brother, Sister In Law, one Grandfather and Grandmother, and two
Great Grandfathers and their wives along with many friends and acquaintances from the past.
We always linger a bit. I guess it's kinda like visiting them. On the way home we stopped to
visit with my Cousin's Widow who lives alone in a nice modern house out in the country.
She and my Cousin built the home and I doubt she will ever leave it.
Getting old is tough sometimes.

A very warm 55 this morning, very warm for this late in October. Also a nice soft rain falling that could last all day. That will be great if so. Let that ground soak it up. Then nice for the rest of the week with more seasonal temps. A few mornings in the 20’s is possible so today I’ll get my firewood rack set up and loaded on the patio.

Think I’ll clean up some 327 Fed Mag brass and work up a load for my Single Seven. I tried 32 H&R loads but I’m not satisfied with the results.

Wow, that’s quite the house.


39 this morning and the last morning above freezing for the next several days. Highs in the mid 50’s with sunshine expected. We got nearly .5 of and inch of rain yesterday, yahoo! More rain coming in this weekend with a warm up. Today I’ll fill up the wood rack both inside the house and on the patio as I expect to have the first fire in the stove this season. My wife is looking forward to the warmth.

... Today I’ll fill up the wood rack both inside the house and on the patio as I expect to have the first fire in the stove this season. My wife is looking forward to the warmth.

We've had couple wet chilly days. So the first and 2nd fire are now behind us. Expecting a normal wet fall, which hasn't happened, we had our firewood stacked and racked by early Sept. We've had some stout rain storms, but not the usual fall frequency. Weather has been slightly warm/coolish. Summer kinda just drifted away. Not the usual abrupt sudden change to fall.

Well, yesterday was pretty productive, we got the doomer on the front of the house done and another little bit of the lower run.
Then when I got home I cleaned the gutters and the chimney flue, and mowed the backyard.
It's 43° here this AM and headed towards the mid 80's later.
