That pic was taken south of me on the Oregon coast. South of Mags by about 1.5 - 2 hours or so I’d guess. We have similar tides where I am, lots of sand and you can walk waaaaaay out at a low tide. I live on the Canadian side near the black dot, duck hunt where the red arrows point, and have a summer place in Point Roberts on the US side near the red dot. At a low low tide you can pretty much walk from one place to the other. It’s 25 miles around the bay from one house to the other...

I figured you’d recognize the spot! Pretty hard one to miss:). We spend a ton of time in the Willamette and on the coast. I think we are going to be near Champoeg over Memorial Day too.

Well dang! Likely we'll be in Santa Rosa, CA then. Son and wife are expecting our first Grand Child about then.

Twin Rocks is due West about 75-80 miles of the TV. With Champoeg about 25 miles due south. For others following, Champoeg is said 'shampoo-eee'. Was a local native american tribe. Also an early Oregon settlement town that was wiped out by a flood.

... I think we are going to be near Champoeg over Memorial Day too.

We have friends on the Santa Rosa - Calistoga short cut, and are there a couple of times a year usually. We’ve probably been in the same checkout line at Safeway...

According to the State historian we met years ago, the natives actually pronounced it sham-po-egg. It was all the darn Frenchies who called it Shampoo-ee. But unless you actually go back in time, it would be hard to tell which is correct.

I think he had posted that he lives in Raleigh NC, but home in picture is just Northwest of Boone NC.
