Norma looks just as sweet today as a tablespoon of Strawberry preserves from a Smucker's Jar. Go Rib Lake Ospreys!! Keep smiling, Norma!
I think Osprey's are really cool hawks. I've been watching a local nest on an Audubon 24/7 webcam. I check in on it a few times a day since the Big Bear Valley Eagles fledged a few weeks ago. Unlike those adorable (and tightly bonded) Eaglets, these nestlings are very aggressive and have established a pecking order for food. So far, the smallest has endured some brutal attacks, but all three continue to grow quickly and are nearly feathered out. Nature is never dull.

Re: Rib Lake Osprey Baseball
The Osprey won their game yesterday in 15-5 fashion. We had front row seats. Everyone wore the bright red t-shirts to Church before the game and sat side by side in the last row. Everyone stopped and talked. One father had sons on both teams. The umpire was someone’s cousin.
That’s me with my legs propped up against the backstop.

Norma reminds me of my grandmother. We used to play a card game called I Take. Part of the game allowed you to take a card from another player. The card taking had an order to it. Often when claiming a take card out of order my grandmother in her sweet elderly lady voice would say, “on no you don’t, I’ll take it”.
Love the aces up her sleeve. You go Norma.

Moving to Wisconsin has been the best decision to do when I did it. I think it would have been a problem to earn a living here although now that I’m retired it’s perfect.

Re: Rib Lake Osprey Baseball
We played our last regular season game today. It’s only a seven game season. We were 5-1 going into the home game and were winning 6-0 going into the top of the eighth when they scored 7 runs to take the lead. Then in the bottom of the eighth we scored seven runs to lead 13-7. We held on to win by the same score. What an exciting game!

Pretty good record for the team. I hope they attribute some of that to their solid fan base.

WE WON! The game ended after 7 innings on a mercy rule. We gave up 5 runs in the first just to score 13 in the bottom of the inning. Then scored more in almost every inning.
It was a night game and about 200 fans showed up.
Here is the namesake of our team.

Three touchdowns to two field goals, that’s a lot of scoring.

Re: Rib Lake Osprey Baseball
We won today after a rain delay and advance to the next round. In a small town the ball players are also the ground keepers.
Since we were the home team only our team worked on the field.
In the meantime kids jumped in mud puddles.
The osprey could not see the fish on the wind blown lake so they stayed in their nest with the young.

Glad they got the game in with all the rain in your area or nearby anyway. Congrats Rib Lake Osprey on another win.

Our small town boys made it to the state playoffs. We play Friday and if we win we play Saturday. If we win Saturday we play Sunday. I’ll miss the Friday game because the gang chartered a fishing trip on Saturday (we leave Friday). If we finish by noon we plan on beelining it to the game.

Re: Rib Lake Osprey Baseball
I’m sorry to announce the Osprey lost last night 11-0. It ended after seven innings with a mercy rule. We had a blast before the game hanging out with the team. And we are staying at the same hotel with them and the other seven teams.
The Osprey were much younger and smaller. We have several teenagers with two only fourteen. The oldest is 42. We also only have twelve on the team with usually only ten or eleven showing up at a game. Compare that to some teams with 25-30 players.
