Norma looks just as sweet today as a tablespoon of Strawberry preserves from a Smucker's Jar. Go Rib Lake Ospreys!! Keep smiling, Norma!
I think Osprey's are really cool hawks. I've been watching a local nest on an Audubon 24/7 webcam. I check in on it a few times a day since the Big Bear Valley Eagles fledged a few weeks ago. Unlike those adorable (and tightly bonded) Eaglets, these nestlings are very aggressive and have established a pecking order for food. So far, the smallest has endured some brutal attacks, but all three continue to grow quickly and are nearly feathered out. Nature is never dull.

Norma is also a card shark known as ‘Cutthroat’.CT_Shooter wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 10:47 amNorma looks just as sweet today as a tablespoon of Strawberry preserves from a Smucker's Jar. Go Rib Lake Ospreys!! Keep smiling, Norma!

Re: Rib Lake Osprey Baseball
The Osprey won their game yesterday in 15-5 fashion. We had front row seats. Everyone wore the bright red t-shirts to Church before the game and sat side by side in the last row. Everyone stopped and talked. One father had sons on both teams. The umpire was someone’s cousin.
That’s me with my legs propped up against the backstop.

Norma reminds me of my grandmother. We used to play a card game called I Take. Part of the game allowed you to take a card from another player. The card taking had an order to it. Often when claiming a take card out of order my grandmother in her sweet elderly lady voice would say, “on no you don’t, I’ll take it”.
Love the aces up her sleeve. You go Norma.

Moving to Wisconsin has been the best decision to do when I did it. I think it would have been a problem to earn a living here although now that I’m retired it’s perfect.

Re: Rib Lake Osprey Baseball
We played our last regular season game today. It’s only a seven game season. We were 5-1 going into the home game and were winning 6-0 going into the top of the eighth when they scored 7 runs to take the lead. Then in the bottom of the eighth we scored seven runs to lead 13-7. We held on to win by the same score. What an exciting game!

Pretty good record for the team. I hope they attribute some of that to their solid fan base.
