Those Sonic burgers make you sick !

In defence of Sonic, there shakes are fantastic!

First time we went to a newly opened In-n-Out, on a road trip, loved the burger and fries. A while later, on another road trip, stopped at the same In-n-Out. Buger was still good but the fries were uneatable.

We don't patronize Jack-in-the-Box. The only time I ate there I was violently sick afterwards. Earned a nickname for the place, Puke-in-a-Box.

We simply don't do fast food anymore. Those chains are having staffing problems and when they DO find help, from what I've seen, they are not the type people I want preparing anything that I'm going to put in my mouth. Furthermore, for what they're charging for their unhealthy food these days, we can go sit down at a reputable independent restaurant for not much more money.

At one of my part time jobs at a burger joint when I was 16, we once had "15 Cent Hamburger Day".

You could probably get 4 burgers, fries and a drink for less than $1 that day.

I believe those days are gone though, lol.

In this area we have several non chain fast food burger joints. One called Zips has restaurants all over the eastern Washington and north Idaho area. They make a great burger and those located in small towns like Deer Park also serve breakfast. While the prices have skyrocketed in the last couple years we can still get a very filling breakfast for a reasonable cost. Another good one in Spokane is called Steer Inn and is a single restaurant. Both of these joints are much better than the typical fast food chain.

We have a local chain called Burgerville. 40 locations. Their burgers are ok, the strawberry shakes are excellent. Actual blendered vanilla ice cream and local strawberries.

The Sonic burgers here are good just todays cost is ridiculous! Usually I cook my own on the grill but that day 95F I just had a taste for one of those without cooking in the heat.
