Don't watch TV at all. Do watch the occasional movie on my computer. I have read almost all the Longmire books and they are a favorite.

We've watched all of the Longmire series and they were very well done indeed.
Right now we're doing 1883, 1923, and Yellowstone. Not woke at all.
Another one we got on Paramount is Joe Pickett. CJ Box wrote the books and the series has had one
season and so far it's good.

Jack Reacher - it's ok, I sorta like the series better - I did thoroughly enjoy reading the books.

I am a Dungeons and Dragons freak, so I enjoyed Game of Thrones, not so much the spin offs. The Witcher and Blood Origins was ok.

Band of Brothers, We were Soldiers Once, and Young - movie and book phantastic!

Most anything with Clint, Wayne and Selleck.

That book and movie have a special meaning for me. My team and I were in the area for the
entire battle. I was part of a five man team working with the helicopter gunships out of
Pleiku, which was not far from the valley. We were there for two weeks until the battle
wound down. I can tell you that the book and the movie were really well done.

Also if you are interested in fictional history I really like WEB Griffin. The authors real name is William E. Butterworth
and his books are name "Griffin" for the war god.
He has several series that start in WWII and go to present day.

"The Corp" is the Army but he also has a series on the Marines, OSS, CIA, and a Philadelphia Detective.
They're all very well written.

I just finished both series...

The Corps series is actually The Marine Corps and it follows a Young Marine thru WWII and Korea, starting as a private all the way thru Major.
The books are what I call "Historical Fiction," a blend of fictional characters mixed with characters from History brought to life so you get to "know" them.

The Brotherhood of War series is the army version on the same path, "Historical Fiction." Follow a family thru history using the military. In this case we see Greece and Vietnam. You see the politics of the military behind the scenes, development of Army Aviation, and much more.

His characters are fully developed and well written. I have read all the series except, surprisingly, the Law Enforcement series... haven't gotten to it yet....

I’ve read several of the series and I found reading the Law Enforcement series after about 8-10 books I quit on it. Well written but the stories started to be the same just with different bad guys. Now that it’s been a year or so I may get back to it and finish the series. I read that WEB Griffin passed away and his son was doing some writing along with a co-writer??????

I served in the Corps for more than 13 years, in Aviation... LOL. I have read both series thru at least a half dozen times over the years. Love them both. I have also read the OSS series. I have just started John Sandford's Prey series again... I lost count how many times I have read thru that one. He has several sister series, Spin Off's I guess you'd call them. Virgil Flowers series and the Kidd Series. A new series he just started is the hero of the Prey series Daughter... Letty, gets her OWN series... I have read the first book in that one... and pre-ordered #2.

They made a TV movie from one of the books in the Prey series with Gibbs playing Davenport. It was okay but not that well done. Kind of like a Stephen King book packed into a tv movie. Needed a mini-series to really do it justice. I wouldn't have picked Gibbs to play the part. He will always be GIBBs to me.

Read both the Marine series and Army series as they came available in original first printing. Re-read the Marine one two or five times, most recently my hospital stay last September.

Thought I would download and read the Army series again for the next stay, should be April.

I started the LE series, but as Hatchdog said - too similar as the books went on.

Evidently I have Rules of Prey in my library since December 2018 - Don't believe I ever read it. Have to remedy that!

I am diggin' this tread - great reading suggestions! Good to see so many like minded readers. Growing up I was always looked at funny 'cause I ALWAYS had a book or three in progress. Even my mom and sister could not grasp that I could be reading three plus stories at the same time - and they are the academics in the family.

And my Marine brothers? They were pretty impressed that someone they knew and lived/partied/fought/loved with could even read!

Back to the series thing... In drama series, I also bought Hill Street Blues. Ground Breaking series, set the mark for the way modern action series would be filmed from then on. Not been done that way before. Action story lines filmed like documentary style, with ensemble cast, and continuing story lines. I loved watching the old series and seeing the folks that show up "Before they were famous." You had people like David Caruso, famous for CSI Miami and so much more, who appeared in a half dozen episodes as an Irish Gang Banger before he met his fate....

For Comedies? I had Cheers, That 70s Show and a few others. Classics like The Andy Griffith Show and Gomer Pyle USMC...

I did enjoy the Vegas show with Dennis Quaid, but it tanked.
Of course there is the Robert Urich Vegas and Spenser for hire I'd watch when they come around, if they come around.

The "Prey" series by John Sandford are one of my favorites. His real name is John Camp and he won a Pulitzer working
for the local commie rag before he gave that up and started writing fiction. The interesting thing is he writes about
real places that you can actually visit so that makes it more interesting for me.
His Virgil Flowers character lives in Mankato, Mn. where I was born.

Mark, I found Justified on HULU. I'm one episode in. It was OK, but I'm relying on the enthusiasm here to get me to the next episode or two.

As far as reading, I enjoyed the WEB Griffin army series. I didn't know about the others as I haven't had much time to read the last few decades. It's easing now. I may look for other Griffin material.

I've been told I would like yellowstone. I watched a few episodes.
I really like The Andy Griffith show. The only series I have recorded is the original series of Star Trek.

I also really like Hill Street Blues. It was a ground breaker and a great ensemble cast. And Hey ....... let's be careful out there!
