I ordered DSL today and should have it in a week. Haven’t made a decision on Satellite.

One thing that helped us to kick DirectTV to the curb was Firestick. The software is included with most SmartTVs. And, all that is required is an Internet connection. There are lots of free shows. And, there is even a news station that I don't mind watching (NewsMax). Firestick can also be purchase as a separate unit. But, the device don't seem to last as long. I think the first one lasted for a couple of years.

The first firestick I bought lasted about 100 days and Amazon wouldnt do a thing. I did buy a second one before the first one went out but I would buy another. I like the Roku much better and its easier to operate

I'm thinking of trying YouTube live tv, free 1 week trial, no contract so can cancel anytime. Looks like it has the live channels I want for about 1/2 the price I'm paying for Dish. Unlimited DVR to the cloud and the interface looks OK.

Also my box has decided to start doing it's daily resets at anytime so I can lose tv right in the middle of watching something and I'm afraid they will want to sign me up for a 2 year commitment to get a new box.

Thats a good song Coop.
The preacher man says it's the end of time
And the Mississippi River, she's a-goin' dry
The interest is up and the stock market's down
And you only get mugged if you go downtown
I live back in the woods you see
My woman and the kids and the dogs and me
I got a shotgun, a rifle and a four-wheel drive
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive
Yup, the dog died, but the rest is true.

I am not aware of Roku. Thanks Big Al! Might be something to check out. I was not aware of Firestick, until my wife got one as a gift. TV is more of her thing. I don’t watch much TV. I will watch the news every now and then. But, a lot of news stations want to share their perspective of events, instead of letting the facts speak for themselves. So, I watch very few news stations as well.

I repositioned the antenna and now get about 40 channels. For the about of TV I watch it will be fine.

I now have CenturyLink and an antenna which gives me 30 stations of mostly reruns. For as much as I watch tv the antenna will work. The internet can now link to my new tv (I think) and will check it out in a few minutes.

There's a lot of free movies and shows on Tubi and YouTube if you care to watch older and fairly recent shows on the internet.
