Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
33 right now, 33 last night and it was 33 yesterday.
Yesterday it rose from 30 to 33 and stayed put all day. Funny, all morning it was 33 and snowing hard and then in the afternoon it turned to a light rain but the temp remained 33. Probably a warm front above the surface cold front. Got another 7” of snow yesterday on top of the 6.5” that came Thursday night. I’m running out of places to put snow so today I have to get the tractor out and use the loader to pile the snow and roll back the berms making room for the next wave. Yesterday the snow was so wet and heavy I could hardly move it with my Ranger and if fact I got stuck a few times. It’s just not heavy enough to tackle 7+ inches of wet heavy snow.
Next week brings a return of Arctic air with lows in the single digits and highs in the lower 20’s.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I pushed all my berms back before this wave, but my wife has the big plow (or at least the truck it mounts on) in Seattle so I had to make do with the little tractor. It’s chained up so I didn’t get stuck, but we also only got 2” or so. They were calling for 6-8” so I got lucky.
Had a beauty 8 point WT in the yard last night, and actually lined him up in the X-bow scope, but it was past my “ethical shooting light”, so I let him walk. My freezer is empty so the temptation was high, but I would regret taking a shot I wasn’t 100% happy with. Hoping he comes back today in the daylight. Working on the shop doors today, and will have the bow on hand:)

A early morning thunderstorm has cleared now and it's 68°. Cooked eggs, bacon, coffee and toast.

How you doing Red? I'm in So-Cal and we do need it. No outside stuff today. Dogs are in their beds looking out the window.

Mags, is right. Look hard behind the center one, she's standing broadside. Good eye Mags, I didn't see it at first.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
27 heading to 30. Today is a transition day from stormy snowy weather to an Arctic blast with winds coming directly to us from the Yukon. We’re looking at highs in the teens and lows in the single digits. Might get some sunny days with this which is a bit of a silver lining. Spent the day yesterday moving snow and I’m nearly done. Still have to clear off the roofs of a couple of sheds and the eves of the shop and house. Not looking forward to the cold but at least no more snow for a while.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
after 6 straight cloudy mornings, we awoke to a beautiful Carolina Blue sky .... 40 on its way to 53 dropping back to just below freezing tonight .... nothing on tap for today that requires us to crank a vehicle .... late yesterday we did winterize our daughter's camper .... today I hope to install and activate a new Wally Dish receiver in our camper .... really enjoying some country sausage we smoked a while back

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Overcast 34°F Humidity 81%
Wind Speed SE 14 mph
Barometer 30.02 in
Rain likely, possibly mixed with snow and sleet before 3pm, then rain. High near 35.
Breezy, with an east southeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
My oldest daughter sent me two boxes that were marked "Dirty Cookies". I hesitated to open them, but
when I did they turned out to be gourmet cookies of custom flavors. So this morning it was MyCoffee and
a Red Velvet Cheesecake cookie.

Life is good.
