Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our mornin Coffee
We have a very small mug "collection" here, a few hanging on a countertop mug tree. I mostly stick with my tried & true Henry mug, which keeps my tea or double mocha at the right temp. My wife's coffee mug, which she has had for probably +25 years (how come we haven't dropped and broken it?!?), has this little ditty on it:
"My little sit-at-the-kitchen-table-with-the-checkbook-and-pay-the-stupid-bills-ALL-NIGHT coffee mug."
Heading to downtown UPS Central Ship Center today to send out some of the .22 Magnum ammo I have listed in the Classifieds. I'll update that post before too long....never have bumped it yet, but the sale is going okay so far -- although slowly. Have a good day, Everyone.

Re: The Weather Channel
Yesterday the +36 mph wind kept me away from the range. North of our city, the prediction was for +50 mph gusts....movin' along.
Wanted to try out my smaller-sized apertures in the Skinner peep on my Big Boy.
Winds hanging around a few more days, but the next range day will come!

Re: Our mornin Coffee
Mornin' Y'all. Looks like another nice day here. 80F by the weekend! We are often snowed under this time of year. I spoke to my local gun range guy last night; $165 for the year, but you get $65 back if you spend 4 hrs on opening day helping to clean up the range. Seems ok to me. They give the combo for the gate and shoot anytime you want.

I am glad to hear that your sale is going okay.
You should not have any problems selling your 22wmr ammunition here, on Armslist, etc. in your local area and/or even if you have to ship it. Your LOCAL Armslist may help you too. I never had any issues selling on Armslist and my detailed ads even helped with some things that we had on consignment too. (I have heard of some people who had issues but our sales were LOCAL and within this state shy of one sale that our FFL man handled.)
When I got out of HIGH volume shooting even with my RF (22lr and 22wmr) firearms - RF ammunition... I sold a bunch of my ammunition to a few friends who could not find any around here at my cost. I sold some at cost to a Veteran in my local area and to another nice man around here too. This was AFTER I had previously got out of ALL of 'MY' CF firearms and was only shooting a couple and/or mainly one of my MT husband's CF firearms.
They were very happy to get my quality ammunition at a good cost. It helped them keep up their shooting at events, a bit of hunting and helped their friends/family too.
Rimfire ammunition is still hit and miss out here depending on the store, day and time of day. Other parts of this state differ too. This goes for 22 wmr ammunition too. I am not talking about the ammunition that you may or may not find online either due to various reasons and at well known companies. That was/is hit and miss from what I saw in the past and even now.
I and/or WE always planned our RF ammunition shopping one year ahead due to the high volume that we shot. I shot far MORE RF ammunition even when I was still shooting CF ammunition too. This was BEFORE all of the so called 'shortages' too.
I planned my MT husband's reloading supplies one year ahead of time too.
We watched what we shot during the so called fake and real 'shortages', market manipulation, and insanity even though we had stock on hand due to our PAST planning, past buying and our past shooting habits.
My MT husband STILL shoots more CF firearms than RF firearms. He always shot more CF than RF in his 60 plus years on this earth. I shot more RF firearms (Combination rifles/handguns that could SHARE ammo.) than CF even though I used to shoot a 'boat load' of CF ammo from the late 90's and on.
Best wishes to you and with your sale.
Cate

Re: Our mornin Coffee
Thanks for the note on selling ammo, and your best wishes, Cate. It's been moving along okay so far. And going through the packing routines under the UPS regulations is getting easier each time I do it. Just like shooting, "practice makes perfect." I even have the official "ORM-D" required label ready to print in my computer ammo folder. :*) It's been interesting. Thanks again.

Yup, that little guy is fun to have around, plus he keeps an eye out on how my cooking is going. Always good to have an assistant chef around!CT_Shooter wrote:PT7 wrote: I like the Doughboy, too.

Re: Our mornin Coffee
on a cool and rainy morning, the coffee seems to taste even better .... the mug of the morning is from the "Historic Triangle" of Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown .... that area of Virginia is loaded with dynamic history .... we try to visit it as often as possible
