Our Morning Coffee and Weather

Morning is almost over as I got busy with repairs this morning. I've got to get some of the backup out of the queue. Anyway it's currently 87 at almost noon. We're supposed to be in the high 90's all week with no rain forecast for the next 12 days. Cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee this morning.

Unfortunately we’re looking at another totally washed out day. Yesterday it rained all day and between that and Friday’s thunderstorms our are has received over 2” of rain. We now have a flood watch in place for areas that are vulnerable. Not my place fortunately.

It’s hard to get motivated to do anything and yesterday my wife and I spent most of the day doing nothing. Stupidly it makes me feel guilty but I only have to answer to myself so that’s foolish.

We are under a flood watch here too but so far it's pretty much missed us. Got maybe a ¼" last night, was sunny this morning but is starting to cloud up now. I am glad I pulled the irrigation pipe out of the creek as it is running very muddy, more rainfall in the mountains and with our cooler than normal Spring it was already running higher than normal for this time of the year.

Spent yesterday afternoon weed eating my electric fence line, didn't do it last year as only had one goat and the field fence side was enough pasture for her.

Just finished bacon, eggs and toast and if it doesn't start raining will go out to do some fence repair.

Last week the Docs were concerned that the baby had not moved for several days so
they induced labor. That didn't work and they were fearing for the babies life, so then
came the C-Section. All we could do was sit at home and worry so I do appreciate all the
good thoughts and prayers. In the end it all worked out well and we have a new little
member of our family.

Already 80° with a high predicted of 96°. Hope everyone is well. I didn't shoot yesterday because I needed to get caught up on work. The range doesn't open until Wednesday, but I plan on being out there. I just had cereal, strawberries and coffee.

Congrats Coop, your new granddaughter has a great name.

48 here under partly cloudy skies and heading to 67 later. Had a bunch of thunderstorms come thru again yesterday along with some really hard rain but no winds or hail thankfully. South of Spokane got hit hard with quarter sized hail. That area has taken a pounding this spring. This is a big crop area and I hope that they haven’t been damaged with all the weather down there.

After three days of on and off storms today I plan to get back out and work on my atv trail. I started a clean up on it last week doing some raking and piling up the debris. I got about a third of the debris moved off the trail and I hope to finish the other 2/3’s today. Then I’ll drag my field mower over it and it should be good to go. I also plan to try to level it out where it’s bad side to side. Knock the high areas into the low areas for a better balance. Unfortunately this will haves to be done by hand with a shovel as it’s too steep to get my loader to.

Been enjoying the grandsons the past couple days, they are in from SC.

41 with sunny skies heading to the upper 60’s. Had a nice day yesterday around 70 with mostly sunny skies. Hadn’t mowed my lawn for too many days due to all the rain and I had to empty my bags twice. Everything around is green, green, green.

I would like to continue my atv trail project but I think my wife has other plans for me involving running into town to buy flowers to put in two pots she does each year for the septic tank covers and two more for the front porch. My pup ate the drip lines for the two pots on the tank so I’ll have to figure something out to prevent that from repeating. My wife read yesterday that Golden Retrievers are very difficult from the age of 8 to 18 months. He’s 11 months and living proof of the above statement. Maybe I’m getting old but I don’t remember our other two Goldens being so difficult at this age.

It’s 76 degrees and 83% humidity here at 8:30. 71 dew point. Not much chance for rain and we need it. It’s dry.

We need rain hear also but none in the forecast. It's already 81° at 9 a.m. Just had cereal and strawberries along with the coffee for breakfast.
I have to take the sis-in-law to the doctor this afternoon. It's always an ordeal trying to get her up and into her wheelchair. I won't get into but suffice to say my wife has to work so it's all on me. Not looking forward to that.
