Went to a little league game yesterday and took my one grandson to his practice this afternoon. His mom was at the hospital and his dad had a meeting. This one is 10 years old and can really drive a baseball a long way for his age. I always think that he gets his strength from karate. He just made his first black belt a few weeks ago. Then I watched what was left of the NASCAR race from Taladega. A lot of wrecks, right up until the last lap. I'm glad that nobody was injured, especially the way some of those cars hit the wall and flipped.

Got all the grass cut today, it takes about 3 hrs on the tractor. Lots of large area, and then all the finicky stuff around the trees, buildings, horse pens, up and down the driveway both sides, etc. But when it's done it looks real nice. First time I've ever had to cut it in May. Usually June. Just boiling the kettle for some tea. Tired. Just got home from the range, and posted some results in the Centerfire topic.

I generally like the seat time on my tractors at my parents place. It helps de stress and I listen to music while doing mowing, plowing, discing, whatever needs doing.

I'm having a nice martini. I got a great deal on a Buck knife I wanted at my local WalMart. I'm thrilled. I also got some cool toys.

Evening tea. Relaxing. It was a good day. Opened the last round bale for the horses. It will last a couple of weeks as I only fork from it, they don't have free access. Then I feed cubed hay for awhile until summer pastures get a chance to grow.

Well, lot's of work today. Plenty of time in the back room here.

I'm having a wonderful Canadian Whiskey. After Scotch Whiskey, Canadian is a good second. Plenty of complex flavors to try. Closer to home and more affordable too!

Johnnie Walker Black is my favorite scotch and VO my favorite Canadian whiskey. But tonight I just had a Budweiser and today we planted rose bushes and flowers in the garden. On Friday we will go and pick up the vegetable plants for our small vegetable garden. The rain has helped to make the digging much easier.

When I drank 30+ years ago, it was Jack Daniels. Straight up, no ice. Jim Beam if no JD around. Time to put the kettle on for tea now.... :)

I mowed lawn at my parents and just finished all my chores at home. A nice glass of Canadian Whiskey is calling and soothing. I'm going to go answer.

I did get to cut the grass today, between rain showers. But more on the way overnight. Tonight we went to the grandkids school band and chorus concert at a theater in town. One plays the piano, trumpet and sings in the chorus and the other one plays the saxophone and guitar. Tonight I will have a glass of pear flavored vodka and watch The Americans on the FX network. As far as I am concerned it is the best thing going as far as a dramatic series on the tube.
