Woke up a bit later than normal and the sun was up. Beautiful blue sky with a yellow sun = NO SMOKE! Yea…….
Yesterday I don’t think the temp got out of the 70’s and we had some light rain in the afternoon. Today we have thunder storms with maybe some heavy rain forecast so that’s scary with the dry conditions we have. A blessing and a curse at the same time.
Just spent some time out on the patio enjoying the clean cool air. Today I have a gravel project putting some decorative border on the shed we bought earlier this year. Then my wife wants me to grill a turkey for a belated birthday dinner. Had to go to several stores to find a turkey, most butchers just looked at me like I had rocks in my head.
Probably going to be grilling in the rain, hope so.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Wow, 51 and foggy! What a nice change from 68 and smoky. Had some nice on and off rains yesterday which gave the area a nice soaking. Today’s high is only in the lower 80’s but I expect it to be humid.
Playing golf today with a mid-day tee time. Should be a nice afternoon to be on the course. Might be a bit humid as we’re playing a course named Downriver. Yep, right on the Spokane river. Lots of trees so shade will be plentiful.

My GPa always told me that 90 days after 1st heavy fog is heavy snow or blizzard 🌨

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Just got back from a breakfast with retirees that we do once a month. Not many of us left.
French Toast, eggs over easy, and sausage. Cracker Barrel.
Now I have my VFW uniform on and am leaving to do a military funeral for one our own who passed.
I am on the rifle squad.
Busy day so far.
Sun is out and warming. It's humid and supposed to hit the high 80s today.
Thankfully we got an inch and a half of rain over the weekend.

89° and headed towards 98° today with about a 40% chance of an afternoon thundershower. They say with the humidity the "feels like" temperature could be 124°!! Don't think I'll be doing any outside work today. Cereal, blueberries, toast and coffee for breakfast.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
My barn swallows left yesterday. Several batchs of young ones raised by several nesting pairs. They always appear suddenly in April ( I abandon parking my car in the carport while they are here to keep car clean) they are great bug catchers and fun to watch them zip about. Then in August, they always suddenly just leave one day heading back south ( I've been told to south america).... won't be back till next april.... an early sign the season is waning.... oh well, hot enough today you wouldn't notice or believe ... but the birds know

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Coffee good... this will be only part of the day that's not hot... walked about in the yard a minute and looked at the stars. Nice cool breeze out there ar the moment. Wsy off to the northeast I could see lighting flashes off the storms that went past to the north and missed us. Hopefully rain next weekend. I will move cows to a fresh pasture at daybreak, and put up two game cameras for my son...how they have advanced.. these have an additional little box with them and send the pictures directly to his phone so you don't have to go back and check them to get pictures.... we will see what we see I suppose....

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
77 this morning with overcast skies and some light rain approaching.
Supposed to get into the upper 90s this afternoon.
Folgers and chocolate chip cookies this morning.
We had fun at the Blue Grass Concert but it's nice to be back home and back into our routine.
The family reunion is over as is the concert so the pressure to prepare for them is off.
I may mow the lawn today, or maybe tomorrow...........
I might clean up the shop today or maybe tomorrow..............
Well, we'll see what shakes out.
Have a nice day friends.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Woke up to a very pleasant 53 this morning with a partial overcast and no smoke. Predicted high is 88 with triple digits returning on Friday. One more triple digit day this year and we will set a new record of triple digit days. Current record is 6 days from 1928. Wonder what global warming we had in 1928 that caused the current record.
(Okay, no more of that!)
I have a truck load (10-12 yards) of 1 1/4” basalt rock being delivered today which will complete the shed project for now. Delivery is scheduled for the afternoon so I expect I won’t spread it until the morning as it will be too hot later today.
