Got out early this morning as it was my eye injection day. Had cereal, muffin, and coffee for breakfast. Clear, hot, and humid today.

Just came down to my man cave and there is a racoon already in the flower bed digging for turtle eggs in broad daylight.
I ran him off but he'll be back I suppose. I really hate to shoot them as they are just part of my environment,
but if they get too destructive, they die.

75 on its way to 80, very humid ....heavy thunderstorms moved through around midnight .... they left standing water in the usual breakfast over, Folgers still on duty .... looks like its going to be a long day

54 in Garrison MT with overcast skies and a forecast of rain. Today is moving day, we’re packing up and moving two hours south to Dillon MT. There we plan to continue to explore ghost towns and do some more commercial tourist type activities. Yesterday we visited the Grant-Kohrs cattle ranch which is a National Park Service site. There were great presentations at the blacksmith shop and the chuck wagon plus just touring all the buildings and a very impressive of horse drawn wagons, carriages and buggy’s. Understand back in the day they used to move 1000+ cows on drives to market with just about a dozen cowboys plus the cook. The cook was the most senior person in the crew and while there was a cattle boss the cook called most of the shots. Stopped in Philipsburg where it is boasted they have the most complete candy store anywhere. There just might be a little bit of fudge in the fridge.

Had to come back and add this funny story. Only funny because it had a positive ending.

Last night we were in bed reading right about nightfall and heard a strange noise outside. We decided to get up and investigate. Our trailer has two doors and the door in the bedroom we never use but it is ready in case of the need for an emergency exit. This door was last locked from the outside locking both the latch and the deadbolt. When we left the trailer I closed the door to keep bugs out not knowing the latch stayed locked. So, there we were locked out of our trailer with the truck keys also locked inside. What to do? It’s getting dark and we are out with just light clothing. After spending several minutes walking around exploring options I decided the only way to get in without breaking a window would be to try to force open one of the storage compartment doors (all locked of course). One storage compartment opens to under the kitchen sink which has a large cabinet door under it. Fortunately my truck has a keypad on the door and I was able to unlock it and get to my tool box. I used a screwdriver and didn’t have to damage anything to get the compartment door open. The catch which was “locked” simply moved up and out of the striker plate with the screwdriver. I unloaded all the stuff in there and fortunately my wife is pretty small and she was able to crawl through the compartment and cabinet and open the door. Yea, we’re saved. I did find out just how easy it would be to break into the trailer for a bad guy.

Looks like the coon came back overnight but wasn't able to dig up the turtle eggs due to the rocks
I placed over them.
Folgers and a strawberry pop tart.
81 degrees already and they say it will be our hottest day of the heat wave today.
Yesterday I scrubbed the pool side while in the pool.
Today will probably be more of the same.

84° headed to mid-90's today. No rain thankfully. Cooked eggs, bacon, toast and coffee. Going to the local guns store to see if there are any primers. I get lucky once in a while. Going to load some .22 Hornet today from the ammo I shot last week. I might load some more .280 and 25-06 depending on my mood.

Don't know what Hatch heard, but we had a bear in my front yard last night. My neighbor has it on his security cam and my motion alarm was going off all through the night. He must have hung around a while.

In the 70s here, cloudy, overcast. Guess more rain's on the way. Had an appt. at the VA this AM. Had a new doc that I've have for about a year. All on the phone, finally had my first face to face today. Very likeable gal, but really tall. Maybe 5'10", nearly a tall as me, slender. You cold probably pick a lock with her. Down to earth easy to talk with, smart, a MD and Pharmacist combined.
She's been a big help getting some of my issues under control.
Appt. this pm to get a haircut. Yep, I still have enough left to cut.

Starting to get over a nasty earache with the help of my good family doc. Coffee is good, and I slept from 6:30 to 3:30 this morning, making up for only getting about an hours sleep the night before.... a hot day ahead so going to feed weaned calves and then not a whole lot else today, except be proud I have a working air conditioner in my ground sorce heat pump.....

80 at 7 a.m. this morning headed to 94. Sipping first cup of coffee and watching CBS This Morning. I'll get some cereal in a bit. Planning on going to the range to sight in the new scope on the he 26-06.

Looks like the coon came back overnight and dug up my plants again searching for grubs I guess.

82 degrees already and a cold front moving in with scattered rain showers.
It should get up to the low 90s and then dive to the 60s tonight.

30 frosty degrees here in Dillon MT. Beautiful clear skies and I believe we’re looking at the 70’s later. Arrived here yesterday in a 40+ mph wind, blew my all over the road. Set up the basics for camp as it was too windy to set up the bbq table, etc. Right after we were done the skies opened up and man did it pour. Nice to be able to sit inside but sadly watched several others set up in the rain. Lucky us!

Today we’re heading to Virginia/Nevada cities to do some touristy stuff. I understand there are many original building there plus many more that were moved there for preservation. Should be a fun day.

Not sure what the noise was that drew us outside the other night. The wind had picked up and I believe either the tethered plastic cap from the water inlet or the TV cable was hitting the end of the trailer. First thing we did the next morning was move the extra set of keys to the trailer to the truck. Nice we brought extra’s for everything stored in my wife’s purse which was locked up in the trailer.
