It could hit 88* today with a chance of a thunderstorm today and tomorrow, then less humid and a bit cooler for Saturday. I think that finally we may have seen the last of this hot humid weather. It is normal, in this location, for by the end of August for it to cool off. I should cut the grass today. Everyone try to have a pleasant day.

The rain is on the plain here in KCMO!! :D
Had 1/2" in the rain gauge yesterday, emptied it last evening, and this morning it's raining with close to 1" already in the gauge.

A very pleasant and welcome way to start the day, and enjoy my double mocha in my Henry mug!

Cloudy and cool here. Weekend weather looks good for riding in the forestry reserve. Coffee in the Roy Rogers mug.

Good morning all from Jonesboro, GA. Back to the hotter temperatures, 90+, for the next few days. Yard work will have to be done rather early, so I am out and headed out shortly. I am using my Henry mug again this morning. It sure makes me look good! Take care and be safe.

Good morning, looks like the hot weather is going to hang around for a bit longer. 90* today and less humid tomorrow but it is not to drop to the lower 80's until Thursday. That will be a welcome relief. Have a nice day.

Good morning all from Jonesboro, GA. Yesterday was just flat out hot! No other way to say it. Today, not quite as hot but not rain in the forecast. Going to do a little gun cleaning today. Take care and be safe.

Sipping my double mocha out of my Henry mug, and thinking about the wild weather last night here in KCMO.

We spent 75-90 minutes under another tornado watch, and wondered if the sirens would let loose yet again! The tornado cell wasn't as near as the one was earlier this summer (that cell was < 1 mile south of us, almost in our neighborhood), but yesterday's storm line was about 12 miles west of our place. The cell moved more in a northerly direction, bypassed us, and gratefully we never did hear of any tornado dropping down. We did catch a pretty severe thunderstorm just as the tornado watch ended, so we had some resounding thunder and very bright lighting flashes for a while. It dropped 3.2 inches of water into our rain gauge, and that topped off the 2+ inches we had the day before. Our county is again under a flood watch, which started overnight and now into the morning hours.

Our summer weather has sure kept us on our toes this year!

Appreciate your comment, CT.

I'd say that news video would be "awesome." I was quite surprised this morning to find the storm winds had ripped a shepherd's crook off the patio fence, where I had one of our potted plants hanging. We have a sound-proof apartment for the most part, so didn't hear or realize how very "wild" that wind was last night! Grateful that's all that happened. :)

That word "chilly" looks wonderful on the screen! T'ain't the weather here today.
As often happens, sunshine, hot & very humid after a thunderstorm.
Take care, and enjoy the chill.

Good morning all from Jonesboro, GA. 74 degrees this morning, with only a 25% chance of rain. Dang, we need some rain, but not the flooding that some other parts of the country have received. Prayers to those struggling in those area. Headed off to church shortly, and then to a family reunion. But right now, drinking coffee out of a Henry mug and enjoying the morning. Take care and be safe.
